Introduction: Amyloid beta (Aβ) can be detected in vivo years before Alzheimer's disease (AD) symptom onset and, according to recent criteria, is sufficient for a biological diagnosis. This study evaluates emotional responses to Aβ status disclosure in cognitively normal individuals.

A 67-year-old woman underwent staging 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan for recently diagnosed breast cancer. Her scan showed a highly hypermetabolic right breast mass, with ipsilateral hypermetabolic axillary lymph nodes. Within the past decade, background parenchymal enhancement (BPE) and background parenchymal uptake (BPU) have emerged as novel imaging-derived biomarkers in the diagnosis and treatment monitoring of breast cancer.
