This study evaluated the influence of drying time, application mode, and agitation on the micro-tensile bond strength (μTBS) of a novel mesoporous bioactive glass-containing universal adhesive (Hi-Bond Universal). Twelve experimental groups were established according to drying time (blot-dry, 10 s dry, or 20 s dry), application mode (total-etch or self-etch), and agitation (with or without). The μTBS test and failure mode analysis were performed for each experimental group ( = 20), and an adhesive interface was observed using field-emission scanning electron microscopy.

This review examines the challenges associated with occupational disease surveillance in Korea, particularly emphasizing the limitations of current data sources such as the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance (IACI) statistics and special health examinations. The IACI system undercounts cases due to its emphasis on severe diseases and restrictions on approvals. Special health examinations, although they cover a broad workforce, are constrained by their annual scheduling, which leads to missed acute illnesses and subclinical conditions.

This study investigated associations between the Superwoman schema (socialized expectations to project strength and exhibit a determination to succeed, while at the same time helping others and suppressing one's emotions) and metabolic syndrome (MetS, a cluster of risk factors for diabetes, heart disease, and stroke detectable in childhood) across the period of adolescence. A sample of 256 Black adolescent girls (ages 14-19), all from lower-income households (≤ 2 × poverty threshold) was recruited for a cross-sectional study. Background: The aims of this study are to examine how occupation-related data and information for health (ODH) are collected and managed from census-based surveys and potential occupational illness and injuries (POI) statistics, and to propose a national strategy for the systematic collection, analysis, and management of ODH by building on the Korean Standard Classification of Occupation (KSCO) and using a job exposure matrix (JEM).

Methods: The status of the collection and management of ODH registered as national statistics, drawn not only from the census-based general population and workforce, but also from POIS statistics was reviewed and evaluated.

Results: ODH from the Republic of Korea's Census of Population and Labor Force are collected and classified according to the KSCO.

We demonstrate a self-homodyne detection method to stabilize a continuous-wave 1550-nm laser to a 1-km optical fiber delay line, achieving a frequency instability of 6.3 × 10 at a 16-ms averaging time. This result, limited by fiber thermal noise, is achieved without the need for a vacuum system, highlighting the potential of our approach for ultra-stable laser systems in non-laboratory environments.

We have estimated the intrinsic complex refractive index spectrum of a CsPbBr nanocrystal. With various dilute solutions of CsPbBr nanocrystals dissolved in toluene, effective refractive indices were measured at two different wavelengths using Michelson interferometry. Given the effective absorption spectrum of the solution, a full spectrum of the effective refractive index was also obtained through the Kramers-Krönig relations.

In this study, we investigated the degradation of the flame retardant tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) using platinized tungsten oxide (Pt/WO), synthesized via a simple photodeposition method, under visible light. Here, we show the conversion of unactivated alkenes into α-branched enones via regioselective chloroacylation with acyl chlorides. The method relies upon the initial in situ generation of chlorine radicals directly from the acyl chloride precursor under cooperative nickel/photoredox catalysis. Subsequent HCl elimination provides enones and α,β-unsaturated esters that are not accessible via the conventional acylation approaches that provide the other, linear constitutional isomer.

This study demonstrates the transformation of acetaminophen by reactive nitrous acid in a frozen solution and its abnormal stoichiometry. The chemical reaction between acetaminophen and nitrous acid (AAP/NO system) was negligible in the aqueous solution; however, the reaction rapidly progressed if the solution started to freeze. The ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry measurements showed that polymerized acetaminophen and nitrated acetaminophen were formed in the proceeding reaction.
