The aim of the present study was analyzing various indicators related to dietary intake and the risk factors for reduced dietary intake after gastrectomy. Through this, we aim to identify the factors affecting the reduction in dietary intake among patients after gastrectomy and, consequently, propose strategies to promote dietary recovery. However, in lung cancer metastasis, the mechanism by which histone methylation regulates metastasis has not been fully elucidated. Here, we found that the histone methyltransferase SMYD2 is overexpressed in lung cancer and that knockdown of SMYD2 could reduce the rates of cell migration and invasion in lung cancer cell lines via direct downregulation of SMAD3 via SMYD2-mediated epigenetic regulation.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC), also known as kidney cancer, is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system. We report considerations related with surgery through 2 cases of acute apendicitis with COVID-19 infection. In November and December 2020, two patients infected with COVID-19 developed acute apendicitis and underwent emergency surgery. In case 1, an 84-year-old woman was asymptomatic and diagnosed with acute apendicitis on the 20th day of infection.

Here, we demonstrate the involvement of EHMT1, a histone lysine methyltransferase, in lung cancer. Immunohistochemical analysis indicated that the expression levels of EHMT1 are significantly elevated in human lung carcinomas compared with non-neoplastic lung tissues.
