Background: The relationship between dietary niacin and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is still not fully understood. Our objective was to assess the association between dietary niacin intake and the prevalence of ASCVD.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we examined a cohort of 15,685 adult individuals in the United States, aged 20 years and older, who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) carried out between 2007 and 2014.

The basidiomycetes Stereum hirsutum and Boreostereum vibrans are two fungi of the same genus. In this study, chemical investigation on the co-cultures of the two congeneric fungi led to the isolation of eleven new vibralactone derivatives, hirsutavibrins A-K (1-11). The structures of 1-11 were elucidated by extensive NMR and HRESIMS spectroscopic analysis, and computational methods.

CVBs use coxsackievirus and adenovirus receptor (CAR) for infection and targeting CAR has been shown to ameliorate CVBs-induced myocarditis. Ligand-of-Numb protein X1 (LNX1) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that was shown to interact with CAR.
