Inguinofemoral lymphadenectomy remains a critical component of staging and treatment for vulvar and penile squamous cell carcinoma. Traditionally performed via an open approach, this procedure is associated with significant morbidity, including lymphocyst formation, chronic lymphedema, and delayed recovery. A minimally invasive alternative, via laparoscopic or robotic platforms, is gaining traction as it is associated with a lower risk of surgical morbidity.

Women with Fanconi anaemia are predisposed to developing squamous cell carcinoma in the lower genital tract at a very young age due to inherent defects in their DNA repair mechanisms. This case report discusses the clinical and psychological aspects of the management of a young virgo intacta woman who presented with an HPV-independent squamous cell carcinoma and a separate high-grade vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia on the contralateral labium. It also discusses the underlying molecular changes that predispose these women to squamous cell carcinoma and highlights the challenges in implementing screening for neoplasia of the lower genital tract in this population.

Singapore's primary healthcare landscape is dominated by private sector general practitioners, who have more room to play in terms of safeguarding the health of the population. Through a transformative national policy, Healthier SG, Singapore is evolving its health system to lean on private-public partnerships. This is achieved through shared care protocols, interoperable IT requirements, new models of financing, shared responsibilities and human resources and, importantly, a bidirectional feedback channel.

The management of groin recurrences in women with vulval cancer presents a significant therapeutic challenge. Groin recurrences, particularly those involving the femoral vessels, are associated with poor outcomes. Historically, surgery was often not offered in such cases, exposing patients to the risk of fatal complications from femoral vessel blow-out, leading to exsanguination.

Introduction: Ovarian cancer (OC) is the sixth most common malignancy in women and the poor 5-year survival emphasises the need for novel therapies. NK cells play an important role in the control of malignant disease but the nature of tumour-infiltrating and peripheral NK cells in OC remains unclear.

Methods: Using flow cytometric analysis, we studied the phenotype and function of NK cells in blood, primary tumour and metastatic tissue in 80 women with OC.

Little is known about the skeletal muscle characteristics (fiber type proportion and size, location of nuclei, presence of fat infiltration) in children with liver disease with radiologically determined myopenia (low muscle mass). During liver transplantation (LTx) surgery, biopsies from the rectus abdominis muscle were collected. Muscle fiber types (I, I/IIA, IIA, IIA/X, IIX) and cross-sectional area index (µm/m 2 ) were determined using immunofluorescence staining.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examines the shift in healthcare policies for migrant workers in Singapore from focusing primarily on workplace injuries to a broader approach emphasizing accessibility and affordability of health services, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • A survey conducted with over 1,000 male migrant workers revealed that while a high percentage felt they could access healthcare and were satisfied with costs, a significant number did not utilize these services regularly due to low perceived need.
  • The research aims to identify gaps in health service delivery and help policy makers enhance the effectiveness of healthcare initiatives for migrant workers, particularly through better understanding of their health-seeking behaviors and awareness of new financing plans.

Background: How have we progressed and where are the gaps of integrated care in Singapore? Social-health care provision in the context of an ageing population is critical in the city-state's management of the unprecedented demand as the proportion of seniors with multiple complex medical needs have almost doubled in the past decade.

Objective: This study measures the maturity level of Singapore's integrated care, identifies key gaps and discusses their implications using the SCIROCCO Exchange tool, an online self-assessment tool consisting of the 12 dimensions necessary for the provision of integrated care.

Methods: A three-step mixed method Delphi study was used to derive expert consensus.

A projected rise in patients with complex health needs and a rapidly ageing population will place an increased burden on the healthcare system. Care coordination can bridge potential gaps during care transitions and across the care continuum to facilitate care integration and the delivery of personalised care. Despite having a national strategic vision of improving care integration across different levels of care and community partners, there is no consolidation of evidence specifically on the salient dimensions of care coordination in the Singapore healthcare context.

Inguinal lymph node involvement is the most robust predictor of mortality in vulval cancer and sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is a safe diagnostic modality. We describe a technique based on anatomical landmarks. Our aims are (1) to describe the territorial mapping of SLNs, (2) to evaluate the associated complication rate vis-à-vis those reported in the literature, and (3) to assess its accuracy in detecting SLNs.

Syndromic and non-syndromic obesity conditions in children, such as Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), both lower quality of life and increase risk for chronic health complications, which further increase health service utilization and cost. In a pilot observational study, we compared body composition and muscle strength in children aged 7−18 years with either PWS (n = 9), NAFLD (n = 14), or healthy controls (n = 16). Anthropometric and body composition measures (e.
