Purpose: This study compared patient-reported compliance with package leaflet administration instructions of two glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2D): weekly injectable dulaglutide and daily oral semaglutide.

Patients And Methods: This was an observational cross-sectional study conducted in Endocrinology Units in Spain. Patients with T2D receiving weekly injectable dulaglutide or daily oral semaglutide at study enrolment who had initiated treatment 3-12 months before were consecutively recruited during routine visits.

Influence of obesity on blood glucose control using continuous glucose monitoring data among patients with type 1 diabetes.

Introduction: The global increase in the prevalence rates of overweight or obesity has also affected patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D), where this disease had traditionally been associated with a lean phenotype. On the other hand, the effect of obesity on new glycemic control metrics obtained from continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in T1D is poorly understood. We wanted to assess whether there is any relationship between BMI (body mass index) and the different CGM metrics or HbA1c.

Indicators to evaluate quality of care in head and neck cancer in Spain.

Purpose: This study aimed to develop a set of criteria and indicators to evaluate the quality of care of patients with head and neck cancer (HNC).

Methods: A systematic literature review was conducted to identify valuable criteria/indicators for the assessment of the quality of care in HNC. With the aid of a technical group, a scientific committee of oncologists specialised in HNC used selected criteria to propose indicators that were evaluated with a two-round Delphi method.

Effect of Hip Muscle Strengthening Exercises on Pain and Disability in Patients with Non-Specific Low Back Pain-A Systematic Review.

Low back pain (LBP) is a health problem that affects 70-80% of the population in Western countries. Because of the biomechanical relationship between the lumbar region and the hip, it is thought that strengthening the muscles of this joint could improve the symptoms of people with LBP. The objective of this study is to evaluate the current evidence on the efficacy of hip strengthening exercises to reduce pain and disability in people with LBP.

Age-standardized incidence, mortality rate, and trend changes of thyroid cancer in the Balearic Islands during the 2000-2020 period: a population-based study.

Objective: Global thyroid cancer (TC) incidence is growing worldwide, but great heterogenicity exists among published studies, and thus, population-specific epidemiological studies are needed to adequate health resources and evaluate the impact of overdiagnosis.

Methods: We conducted a Public Health System database retrospective review of TC incident cases from 2000 to 2020 in the Balearic Islands region and evaluated age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR), age at diagnosis, gender distribution, tumor size and histological subtype, mortality rate (MR), and cause of death. Estimated annual percent changes (EAPCs) were also evaluated and data from the 2000-2009 period were compared to the 2010-2020 period when neck ultrasound (US) was routinely performed by clinicians at Endocrinology Departments.

We assess the population biology of the first OXA-48-producing isolates recovered in our hospital (2012 to 2013) where infections by other carbapenemases had been endemic for several years.
