Background: Compared to midazolam, remimazolam has a faster onset and offset of hypnotic effect, as well as cardiorespiratory stability, this study aims to determine the 90% effective dose (ED90) of remimazolam to inhibit responses to insertion of a duodenoscope during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

Methods: A dose-response study was carried out undergoing ERCP who received remimazolam-alfentanil anesthesia using 10 µg/kg of alfentanil between September 2021 and November 2021. The initial dose of remimazolam was 0.

Study Objective: In many countries, the combination of propofol and opioid is used as the preferred sedative regime during ERCP. However, the most serious risks of propofol sedation are oxygen deficiency and hypotension. Compared to midazolam, remimazolam has a faster onset and offset of hypnotic effect, as well as cardiorespiratory stability, and to achieve widespread acceptance for procedural sedation, remimazolam must replace propofol which is the most commonly used for procedural sedation.

The corpus cavernosum is the most important structure for penile erection, and its dysfunction causes many physiological and psychological problems. However, its cellular heterogeneity and signalling networks at the molecular level are poorly understood because of limited access to samples. Here, we profile 64,993 human cavernosal single-cell transcriptomes from three males with normal erection and five organic erectile dysfunction patients.

Patients with congenital unilateral absence of the vas deferens (CUAVD) manifest diverse symptoms from normospermia to azoospermia. Treatment for CUAVD patients with obstructive azoospermia (OA) is complicated, and there is a lack of relevant reports. In this study, we describe the clinical features and evaluate the treatments and outcomes of CUAVD patients with OA.

Erectile dysfunction attributable to testosterone deficiency is less common in young males, and the effect of estradiol on erectile function in eugonadal young males is unclear. We analyzed data from 195 male participants, including 143 eugonadal patients with erectile dysfunction and 52 healthy men. To distinguish psychogenic and organic erectile dysfunction, penile rigidity was measured using the nocturnal penile tumescence rigidity test.

Structural alterations in fibroelastic components of the penile corpus cavernousum (CC) may impair its compliance, resulting in venous leakage and erectile dysfunction (ED). Our study evaluated the effectiveness of noninvasive two-dimensional shear-wave elastography (2-D SWE) in quantifying penile CC lesions in rabbits with hyperlipidemia-induced ED. A total of 12 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into two groups.

The present study investigated the maneuverability and reasonability of sensory analysis, which has been applied in TCM identification for a long time. Ten assessors were trained and generated the human panel to carry out the organoleptic evaluation of twenty-five batches of Sha-Ren samples. Accordingly, samples were scored from 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest) for sensory attributes.

The aim of this study was to clarify the effect of heme oxygenase (HO)-1 on the kidney during septic shock in rats. Eighty healthy and clean Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: control group (group C) , septic shock group (group SS) , lipopolysaccharide plus ZnPP-IX group (group LZ) , and ZnPP-IX (group Z) . The plasma levels of COHb, Cr, and BUN; the urine levels of gamma-GTP, alpha1-MG, RBP, and NAG; and MDA content, SOD activity; HO-1mRNA; HO-2mRNA; HO-1 protein; and HO-2 protein from kidney were measured.

Objective: To study the effect of nitric oxide donor and alpha(1)-receptor antagonist on proliferation/apoptosis of hyperplastic prostatic stromal cells in vitro.

Methods: Primary cultured prostatic stromal cells were treated by nitric oxide donor SNP and Terazosin, and the antiproliferative index and apoptosis index were determined by MTT assay and TUNEL respectively.

Results: There was a significant dose-effect relationship between SNP and the antiproliferative effects, while Terazosin showed no antiproliferative effects and the combination of SNP and Terazosin showed no strengthen effects.
