Psoriasis, an immune-mediated chronic inflammatory skin disorder, poses challenges for topical treatment due to the thickening of the stratum corneum, hindering drug penetration. Furthermore, long-term use of chemical drugs may lead to immunosuppression and abnormal hepatic or renal dysfunction. Inspired by traditional Chinese fire cupping (Ba Huo Guan), a negative-pressure microneedle syringe therapy has been proposed here for psoriasis treatment.

Herein, a multi-functional type-I heterojunction (Eu@ZMC) is designed by europium metal-organic framework (EuMOF), zinc oxide quantum dots (ZnO QDs), and chlorogenic acid (CGA). Eu@ZMC achieves ratiometric fluorescent/colorimetric sensing of pH and biogenic amines to detect freshness.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) resulting from coronary artery occlusion stands as the predominant cause of cardiovascular disability and mortality worldwide. An all-encompassing treatment strategy targeting pathological processes of oxidative stress, inflammation, proliferation and fibrotic remodeling post-AMI is anticipated to enhance therapeutic outcomes. Herein, an up-down-structured bilayer microneedle (Ce-CLMs-BMN) with reactive oxygen species (ROS) and ultrasound (US) dual-responsiveness is proposed for AMI in-situ sequential therapy.

Among them, deep second-degree burns are often accompanied by bacterial infections, insufficient blood flow, excessive skin fibroblasts proliferation and collagen deposition, all of which contribute to poor wound healing and scarring following recovery. In this study, SNP/MCNs-SKN-chitosan-β-glycerophosphate hydrogel (MSSH), a hydrogel composed of a temperature-sensitive chitosan-β-glycerophosphate hydrogel matrix (CGH), mesoporous carbon nanospheres (MCNs), nitric oxide (NO) donor sodium nitroprusside (SNP) and anti-scarring substance shikonin (SKN), is intended for use as a biomedical material.

A portable platform is constructed for quantitative detection of viral DNA based on the principle of fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) and graphene oxide nanosheets (GOs) in this work. To implement a high sensitivity and low detection limit, GOs are modified by magnetic nanoparticles to prepare magnetic graphene oxide nanosheets (MGOs).

The large amount of reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced by high glucose metabolism in diabetic patients not only induces inflammation but also damages blood vessels, finally resulting in low limb temperature, and the high glucose environment in diabetic patients also makes them susceptible to bacterial infection. Therefore, diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) usually presents as a nonhealing wound. To efficaciously prevent and treat DFU, we proposed a near-infrared (NIR) responsive microneedle (MN) patch hierarchical microparticle (HMP)-ZnO-MN-vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor (H-Z-MN-VEGF&bFGF), which could deliver drugs to the limbs painlessly, accurately, and controllably under NIR irradiation.

Currently, for the lack of targeting, short half-life, low bioavailability and high bleeding risk of the classical thrombolytic drugs, pharmacological thrombolysis is usually a slow process based on micro-pumping. In addition, frequently monitoring and regulating coagulation functions are also required during (and after) the process of thrombolysis.

First, an appropriate portion of glyceryl monooleate (GMO) and glyceryl monostearate (GMS) is mixed to provide a thermal phase responsive matrix (GMO-GMS, GG). Subsequently, to improve the photothermal responsive and antibacterial performance, silver nanoparticles (Ag) decorated reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanocomposite (rGO-Ag) is added to the GG matrix to obtain (GG-rGO-Ag).

According to subsequent behavioral, biochemical, and electrophysiological analysis, BP-Flu, after irradiated with near-infrared light (808 nm), can significantly reduce the therapy time of depression. Meanwhile, the inherent biotoxicity of Flu is also alleviated.
