Propofol is a commonly used sedative for the induction of clinical anesthesia and sedation maintenance in intensive care unit patients. However, in a minority of patients, prolonged infusion of propofol may cause metabolic acidosis, electrocardiographic abnormalities, arrhythmias, and rhabdomyolysis, a condition known as propofol-related infusion syndrome. If not promptly identified and managed, propofol-related infusion syndrome can be fatal.

This protein, which is largely undetectable in normal tissues but is highly expressed in numerous tumor types, serves a significant role in cell mitosis, proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, autophagy and apoptosis. Furthermore, DEPDC1 is implicated in several key signaling pathways, such as NF-κB, PI3K/Akt, Wnt/β-catenin and Hippo pathways, which are essential for cell proliferation and survival.

S phase kinase-related protein 2 (Skp2) is oncogenic and overexpressed in various human tumors. It is highly expressed in GBM and its expression is correlated with tumor growth, drug resistance and poor prognosis.

Background: Ewing sarcoma-associated transcript 1 (lncRNA EWSAT1) is reported to have a close relationship with the overall survival in many cancers.
