Objective: To determine the influence of ultrasound/microbubble-mediated miR-424-5p delivery on trophoblast cells and the underlying mechanism.
Methods: Blood pressure and 24-h proteinuria of patients with preeclampsia (PE) were measured as well as the levels of miR-424-5p and amine oxidase copper containing 1 (AOC1) in placental tissues. HTR-8/Svneo and TEV-1 cells were subjected to cell transfection or ultrasonic microbubble transfection for determination of the expression of miR-424-5p, AOC1, β-catenin and c-Myc as well as cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration and invasiveness.
Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and accompany asymptomatic deterioration of the myocardial function. This study aims to identify the subclinical impact of GDM on maternal left ventricular function by two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE).
Methods: We prospectively recruited 47 women with GDM and 62 healthy pregnant women who underwent transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) at 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Calycosin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (CG) is the component of Astragali Radix, and the aim of the present study is to investigate whether CG protects myocardium from I/R-induced damage by the regulation of IL-10/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. H9C2 cells were subjected to I/R treatment and pretreated with 1 μm CG in vitro. In addition, a mouse model of myocardial I/R injury was induced by left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery ligation and administrated with 30 mg/kg CG by intravenous injection before I/R surgery.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the carotid artery wall elasticity between patients with uremia and controls using echo tracking (ET).
Methods: Ninety-three patients with uremia and 35 control subjects (Group A) were enrolled in this study. In the ET mode, the carotid artery elasticity parameters including stiffness index (β), pressure-strain elasticity modulus (EP), arterial compliance (AC), and one-point pulse wave velocity (PWVβ) were measured, and carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) was measured with B-mode ultrasonography.
Objectives: To investigate the value of 2-dimensional (2D) speckle-tracking echocardiography for assessing right ventricular (RV) systolic function in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease (CPHD) and the correlation of its parameters with the right ventricular ejection fraction (RVEF) on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: According to pulmonary arterial systolic pressure, 80 patients with CPHD and tricuspid regurgitation were divided into 2 groups: 42 with mild pulmonary hypertension (PH; 30-50 mm Hg) and 38 with moderate or severe PH (≥50 mm Hg); 41 control participants were recruited. All participants underwent 2D speckle-tracking echocardiography and cardiac MRI.
