Effectiveness of parathyroid autotransplantation during total thyroidectomy and functional recovery post-operation: A retrospective study.

Introduction: Thyroid carcinoma is the most common endocrine malignancy, with total thyroidectomy being a standard treatment. However, this procedure carries a risk of hypoparathyroidism. Parathyroid autotransplantation (PAT) is recommended to prevent postoperative hypoparathyroidism, though its effectiveness and the recovery of parathyroid function remain poorly understood.

Clinical characteristics and prognostic factors of male yolk sac tumor: a Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program study.

Introduction: Yolk sac tumor (YST) is a rare malignant germ cell tumor, which usually affects young males. Because of the low incidence, few studies on YST have been published. In our study, we aim to investigate the clinical characteristics, survival and risk factors of male YST patients based on the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program.

Gli3 is required for maintenance and fate specification of cortical progenitors.

Gli3, one of three vertebrate Gli transcription factors in Hedgehog (Hh) pathway, is processed into a repressor form (Gli3R) in the absence of Hh signal and acts as the major negative transducer of the pathway. Although the role of Gli3 in embryonic patterning has been extensively studied, its role in cortical neurogenesis, especially in the regulation of neural progenitors in proliferation and cell fate specification, is largely unknown. To bypass the patterning defects caused by loss of Gli3, we conditionally deleted Gli3 after patterning was complete in mouse.
