Background: Symptomatic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) escape is an uncommon presentation in people with HIV with undetectable or low-level HIV RNA while on combination antiretroviral treatment (cART). Only one case has been reported in a patient receiving bictegravir-based therapy so far.

Methods: We looked for patients presenting with neurological symptoms while on Tenofovir Alafenamide/Emtricitabine/Bictegravir and who were confirmed to have a CSF HIV RNA above plasma HIV RNA.

In the present article, we find that it is possible to cook albumen and yolk at two temperatures without separation by using periodic boundary conditions in the energy transport problem.

Background And Aims: The use of a POCT (Point Of Care Test) could help in reducing the impact of pre-analytical errors in particular in challenging newborn samples.The study purpose is to compare the POCT Sight OLO® hematology analyzer, validated for >3 months patients, with the reference system Sysmex XN-9100™ in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Material And Methods: The two analyzers were compared through Passing-Bablok regression analysis and Bland-Altman plot.

Vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked, autoinflammatory, somatic (VEXAS) is a haemato-inflammatory syndrome genetically defined by somatic mutations in the X-linked UBA1 gene, typically Val/Thr/Leu substitutions at the Met41 hotspot. Clinical manifestations are heterogeneous and refractory to most haemato-rheumatological treatments. To date, no guidelines exist for the management of VEXAS, and scarce is the evidence on methodology and clinical significance of longitudinal UBA1 clonal burden evaluation upon therapy.

Sensitization of melanoma cells to standard chemotherapy: G-quadruplex binders as synergistic agents.

The use of chemotherapeutics has achieved considerable success in cancer therapy; however, their toxicity can severely impact patients' health. In this study, aiming to reduce the doses and potential side effects of traditional chemotherapeutics, we systematically treated A375MM human melanoma cells with seven clinically approved antineoplastic drugs, in combination with three well-characterized G-quadruplex (G4) ligands, using either simultaneous or sequential dosing schedules. Interestingly, the G4 binders synergized with most of the investigated anticancer drugs, with the degree of synergism being strictly dependent on both the treatment schedule and the drug sequence employed.

To fully respond to the provisions of the Judicial Authority relating to the care of minors and/or young adults subjected to judicial measures and affected by mental suffering and/or substance abuse, also with a view to a possible provision of placement in a therapeutic community, the UOSD "Protection of the Health of Adults and Minors in the Penal Area" - ASL Salerno has ensured operations through the establishment of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, made up of a psychiatrist, psychologist and social worker, as required by DGRC 567/2018, or as the only interface with the Judicial Authority in reference to healthcare. This article aims to describe the birth of the EMM (Equipe Multidisciplinare Minori), and of the methods used to take care of minors and/or young adult offenders affected by mental suffering and/or substance abuse. The article examines a sample of 207 minors, relating to the years 2018-2022, to highlight the most critical areas.

Iran is a major center for sage diversity in Asia, boasting 60 Salvia species, 17 of which are unique to the area.

Despite advancements in therapeutic strategies, the development of drug resistance and metastasis remains a serious concern for the efficacy of chemotherapy against colorectal cancer (CRC). We have previously demonstrated that low expression of ribosomal protein uL3 positively correlates with chemoresistance in CRC patients. Here, we demonstrated that the loss of uL3 increased the metastatic capacity of CRC cells in chick embryos.
