Background And Objectives: Guidelines for super-refractory status epilepticus (SRSE) evaluation, management, and prognostication are lacking. Characterization of practice patterns could identify trends and potential areas for future inquiry. We surveyed clinicians who manage SRSE to better understand practice approaches to SRSE evaluation, management, and prognostication.

Background: Baricitinib has previously been shown to improve clinical response in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in the JUVE-BASIS trial. In this post-hoc analysis we aimed to identify whether pharmacodynamic changes in serum biomarkers in response to baricitinib treatment could help reaffirm the clinical utility of baricitinib in patients with JIA.
Methods: JUVE-BASIS was a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, withdrawal, efficacy, safety, phase 3 trial, done in 75 centres in 20 countries.
Desmosomes (DSMs) are intercellular junctions essential for providing mechanical resilience to tissues, particularly the epidermis. Desmoplakin (DP) is a key DSM protein which anchors plaque proteins to keratins, thereby ensuring tissue integrity under mechanical stress. Clinically, DP mutations impair keratinocyte adhesion and structural integrity, leading to skin fragility disorders.

Background: Among patients with intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism undergoing mechanical thrombectomy, the mean change in cardiac index (CI) is modest. We sought to identify variables associated with a hemodynamic super-response or a CI increase of ≥25% postthrombectomy.
Methods: This was a single-center retrospective study including patients with intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism undergoing mechanical thrombectomy with pulmonary artery catheter-derived hemodynamic indices obtained preprocedure and postprocedure.

In Nigeria, a huge gap in knowledge on livestock mobility and its role on transboundary disease spread exists. As animals move, so do diseases. Therefore, there is a need to understand how livestock movements can contribute to the circulation and maintenance of infectious livestock diseases which can impede the design of particular surveillance and control tactics in the event of outbreaks.
