Ar-turmerone, a major bioactive compound in , has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, antifungal, antioxidant, and anticancer properties. This study investigated its interaction with human serum albumin (HSA) using spectroscopic, microscopic, and computational approaches to characterize its binding properties, which are crucial for its distribution and transport in the bloodstream. Fluorescence spectroscopy showed a 34% decrease in HSA fluorescence intensity at 90 μM ar-turmerone, accompanied by a 2 nm blue shift, suggesting a transition of the protein's fluorophores' microenvironment to a slightly nonpolar state.

This study explored its binding interaction with human serum albumin (HSA), the major blood transport protein, using modeling, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and various spectroscopic techniques. Molecular docking suggested that GW preferentially binds to subdomain IIA (Site I) of HSA, stabilized by hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic interactions, and van der Waals forces.

The multitargeted receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, dovitinib (DTB) is reported to have a broad variety of pharmacological properties, which can be potentially useful in the treatment of various cancer entities. Association of DTB with the carrier protein, human serum albumin (HSA) was explored via experimental and in silico techniques. The reduction results of HSA fluorescence along with the hyperchromic effect in HSA's absorption signal observed with added DTB affirmed the DTB-HSA complex formation.

Methods: A randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted at Physical Therapy Department Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar from March 2022 to August 2022. A total of 50 subjects, aged 18 to 50 years with non-specific neck pain for ≥ 3 months were included.
Fluorescence and absorption spectroscopy coupled with molecular docking techniques were chosen to reveal the molecular relationship between bromocriptine (BRC), a dopamine agonist, and human serum albumin (HSA), the major carrier protein in the bloodstream. The gradual decrease of Stern-Volmer constant (K) with increasing temperatures noted that BRC induced quenching in HSA fluorescence occurred a static quenching mechanism, thus indicating the formation of complexes between BRC and HSA. The changes observed in the UV-vis absorption spectra of HSA as a result of BRC addition and the fact that the biomolecular quenching rate constants (K) calculated for the BRC-HSA interaction are significantly larger than the highest value of the dynamic quenching rate constant also support this conclusion.

Interaction between a local anesthetic drug, articaine (ART) and human serum albumin (HSA) was investigated in the absence and presence of paracetamol (PAR) and caffeine (CAF) using spectroscopic, voltammetric, and computational techniques for the first time. The results demonstrated that increasing concentrations of ART in HSA solution led to a decrease in HSA fluorescence signal, indicating the ART-HSA complex formation via the static quenching mechanism. The binding strength of the complex was moderate (binding constant, K = 5.

The biosynthesis of isopentenyl diphosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl diphosphate (DMAPP), which are essential for sesquiterpenes and triterpenes, respectively, is primarily governed by the mevalonate pathway, wherein () plays a pivotal role. This study identified eight members of the FPS gene family in , designated -, through bioinformatics analysis, revealing their distribution across several chromosomes and a notable tandem gene cluster. The genes exhibited strong hydrophilic properties and key functional motifs crucial for enzyme activity.

Current germplasms of goji berries include small fruits with a short shelf life, less sweet and bitter taste, and a lack of appropriate genetic information. This study aimed to employ whole genome resequencing to generate an ultra-dense bin linkage map and to elucidate the genetic basis of goji fruit quality and size using quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping analysis in a cross-pollinated hybrid population.

Introduction: Pakistan has significantly strengthened its capacity for active case finding (ACF) for tuberculosis (TB) that is being implemented at scale in the country. However, yields of ACF have been lower than expected, raising concerns on its effectiveness in the programmatic setting. Distribution of TB in communities is likely to be spatially heterogeneous and targeting of ACF in areas with higher TB prevalence may help improve yields.

Skeletal dysplasias (SKDs) are a heterogeneous group of more than 750 genetic disorders characterized by abnormal development, growth, and maintenance of bones or cartilage in the human skeleton. SKDs are often caused by variants in early patterning genes and in many cases part of multiple malformation syndromes and occur in combination with non-skeletal phenotypes. The aim of this study was to investigate the underlying genetic cause of congenital SKDs in highly consanguineous Pakistani families, as well as in sporadic and familial SKD cases from India using multigene panel sequencing analysis.
