Background: The tumor immune microenvironment, particularly tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), plays a critical role in disease progression and treatment response in triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs). This study was aimed to characterize the composition of TILs and investigate their clinicopathological and prognostic significance with a special focus on the spatial distribution of TILs in TNBCs.
Methods: We analyzed TNBC samples through PanCancer Immune Profiling using NanoString nCounter assays to identify immune-related genes that are expressed differentially in relation to TIL levels and evaluated protein expression of selected markers through immunohistochemical staining on tissue microarrays.
Ascites cytology is a cost-effective test for metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) in the abdominal cavity. However, metastatic carcinoma of the peritoneum is difficult to diagnose based on biopsy findings, and ascitic aspiration cytology has a low sensitivity and specificity and a high inter-observer variability. The aim of the present study was to apply artificial intelligence (AI) to classify benign and malignant cells in ascites cytology patch images of metastatic CRC using a deep convolutional neural network.

Although the volume and significance of electronic data sources are expanding, it is unclear what predictors of NHA have been systematically identified in the literature via electronic health records (EHRs) and administrative data.
Objective: This study synthesizes findings of recent literature on identifying predictors of NHA that are collected from administrative data or EHRs.
Introduction: Urinary incontinence is a significant health problem with considerable social and economic consequences among older adults. The objective of this study was to investigate the financial impact of continuity of care (CoC) among older urinary incontinence patients in South Korea.
Methods: We used the NHIS-Senior cohort patient data between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2010.
Multidrug resistance (MDR) is one of the major barriers in chemotherapy. It is often related to the overexpression of efflux receptors such as P-glycoprotein (P-gp). Overexpressed efflux receptors inhibit chemotherapeutic efficacy by pumping out intracellularly delivered anticancer drugs.

Objectives: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) accounts for approximately 90% of all renal malignancy. Because a rich vasculature is an outstanding feature of RCC, information on the blood vessels of RCC might explain its tumor characteristics. Several researchers have noted the effects of tumor vessels on the clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis of tumors; however, a clear association has not been established.

Background: Since 1995, the Korean Society for Cytopathology has overseen the Continuous Quality Improvement program for cytopathology laboratories. The Committee of Quality Improvement has carried out an annual survey of cytology data for each laboratory and set standards for proficiency tests.
Methods: Evaluations were conducted four times per year from 2008 to 2018 and comprised statistics regarding cytology diagnoses of previous years, proficiency tests using cytology slides provided by the committee, assessment of adequacy of gynecology (GYN) cytology slides, and submission of cytology slides for proficiency tests.
Uterine serous adenocarcinoma (USC) is rare and invasive cancer. This cancer is more often reported in the ovary, the fallopian tube, and the endometrium than uterine cervix. No matter where the tumor is located, the tumor exhibits similar histological characteristics.

Design: Cross-sectional survey of participants in the baseline evaluation of the B'More Healthy Communities for Kids (BHCK) obesity prevention trial. We collected data on socio-economic factors, food source destinations, acquiring food, preparation methods, psychosocial factors, beliefs and attitudes, participation in food assistance programmes, anthropometry and food security.
Inonotus obliquus is a mushroom commonly known as Chaga that is widely used in folk medicine in Siberia, North America, and North Europe. Here, we evaluated the antimutagenic and antioxidant capacities of subfractions of Inonotus obliquus extract. The ethyl acetate extract was separated by vacuum chromatography into three fractions, and the fraction bearing the highest antimutagenic activity was subsequently separated into four fractions by reversed phase (ODS-C18) column chromatography.
