Artists are rapidly integrating generative text-to-image models into their workflows, yet how this affects creative discovery remains unclear. Leveraging large-scale data from an online art platform, we compare artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted creators to matched nonadopters to assess novel idea contributions. Initially, a concentrated subset of AI-assisted creators contributes more novel artifacts in absolute terms through increased output-the productivity effect-although the average rate of contributing novel artifacts decreases because of a dilution effect.

Cell-cell communication (CCC) plays a critical role in the physiological regulation of organisms and has been implicated in numerous diseases. Previously, we introduced FlyPhoneDB, a tool designed to explore CCC in single-cell RNA-sequencing datasets. The core algorithm of FlyPhoneDB infers tissue-specific signaling events between cell types by calculating cell-cell interaction scores based on curated ligand-receptor (L-R) expression across major signaling pathways.

Introduction: Refractory or resistant cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and disease pose a significant challenge in immunocompromised patients, including solid organ transplant (SOT) and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (allo-HCT) recipients. This study aimed to evaluate letermovir as a treatment for patients with CMV infection or disease.
Methods: We performed an open-label, phase II non-randomized clinical trial.
Objectives: Prior experiences of medical racism harm health outcomes through reduced trust in medical recommendations and ultimately reduced treatment uptake. Unfortunately, experiencing medical racism is common among Black women. Culturally tailoring interventions can increase patient trust and treatment engagement.

Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is a gold-standard intervention to address insomnia. To improve CBT-I access and treatment adherence, screen-based digital CBT-I platforms have been developed.

Objective: To identify factors, especially the electrographic features, that predispose patients with lateralized periodic discharges (LPDs) to epilepsy development.
Methods: We included adults, without epilepsy history, who had LPDs on continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring during hospitalization. We characterized LPDs based on American Clinical Neurophysiology Society rhythmic and periodic pattern modifiers.

To determine the association between parental characteristics and MMR (measles-mumps- rubella) vaccination status of children in the United States. We conducted a cross-sectional study from July 2023 to April 2024 using a digital health survey via OutbreaksNearMe, weighted to target national population characteristics. We analyzed the responses of 19 892 parents of children younger than 5 years to examine the association between self-reported parental characteristics (i.

Background: Insomnia is the most common sleep disturbance among cancer patients undergoing active treatment. If untreated, it is associated with significant physical and psychological health consequences. Prior efforts to determine insomnia prevalence and correlates have primarily assessed patients in clinical trials, in limited disease groups, and excluding important patient subgroups.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPediatric cancer survivors are at heightened risk for insomnia. Though behavioral interventions are the recommended approach, there are not enough trained clinicians. No known published trials have been conducted among school-aged survivors, despite them having unique age-related sleep issues.

Objectives: People with idiopathic hypersomnia report significant impairment in their lives due to idiopathic hypersomnia symptoms, and this likely includes an impact on social relationship health. This study investigated the effects of idiopathic hypersomnia on social relationships (friends, romantic, and sexual) during the key developmental period of young adulthood.
Methods: Young adults (N = 106; 18-39years) with idiopathic hypersomnia were recruited through national hypersomnia patient organizations.
Objectives: Fatigue is a common nonhematologic toxicity of the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients with prevalence rates of clinician-rated all-grade and grade 3/4 fatigue of 39.2% and 2.5%, respectively.

Importance: Insomnia symptoms affect an estimated 30% to 50% of the 4 million US breast cancer survivors. Previous studies have shown the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), but high insomnia prevalence suggests continued opportunities for delivery via new modalities.
Objective: To determine the efficacy of a CBT-I-informed, voice-activated, internet-delivered program for improving insomnia symptoms among breast cancer survivors.

The Society of Behavioral Medicine supports increasing access to evidence-based treatment of insomnia by addressing barriers at the patient, provider, and systemic levels including support from government agencies to raise awareness about sleep and sleep disorders, health payors providing fair reimbursement for evidence-based insomnia assessment and therapy consistent with standard of care recommendations, and relevant training programs (e.g. psychologists, nurses, physicians, social workers, licensed professional counselors) to prioritize sleep health education.

Background: Sleep problems following childhood cancer treatment may persist into adulthood, exacerbating cancer-related late effects and putting survivors at risk for poor physical and psychosocial functioning. This study examines sleep in long-term survivors and their siblings to identify risk factors and disease correlates.
Methods: Childhood cancer survivors (≥5 years from diagnosis; n = 12 340; 51.
To address the rapid growth of scientific publications and data in biomedical research, knowledge graphs (KGs) have become a critical tool for integrating large volumes of heterogeneous data to enable efficient information retrieval and automated knowledge discovery (AKD). However, transforming unstructured scientific literature into KGs remains a significant challenge, with previous methods unable to achieve human-level accuracy. In this study, we utilized an information extraction pipeline that won first place in the LitCoin NLP Challenge (2022) to construct a large-scale KG named iKraph using all PubMed abstracts.

Background: Children treated with stem cell transplant (SCT) are routinely hospitalized for long periods where they are exposed to significant sleep and circadian disruptions. As nurses play a primary role in symptom management during SCT, we sought to understand their perspective on patient sleep and circadian disruptions, perceived barriers to a good sleep and circadian environment, and suggestions for improvement.
Procedure: Four focus groups were conducted with pediatric SCT nurses (N = 25 participants).
Background: Young adult cancer survivors (YACS) are at elevated risk for chronic insomnia, even years after completing treatment. In addition to potential health consequences, insomnia can interrupt social, educational, and vocational development just as they are trying to "make up" for time lost to cancer. Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTI) is recommended as first-line treatment for insomnia but remains largely unavailable to YACS due to several barriers (ie, shortage of trained providers, geographic limitations, financial limitations).

Objective: The study objective was to determine the effect of gentrification on the weight outcomes of New York City public school students living in public housing.
Methods: In a prospective cohort of 19,022 New York City public school students in public housing followed during 2009-2017, weight outcomes of students living in public housing buildings in gentrified neighborhoods were compared to those living in consistently low-socioeconomic-status neighborhoods; assignment was quasi-random in each borough.
Results: Among the 42,182 student-year observations, gentrification did not increase weight outcomes significantly, for BMI z scores (0.
