Background And Aims: Hormone receptors are expressed in 70% of breast cancers and are the major biomarkers for tailoring treatment in early-stage breast cancer. In clinical routine, immunohistochemistry (IHC) is used to assess estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), HER2, and Ki67 protein expression. However, IHC procedure is challenged with pre-analytical and analytical variability.

Background: Several factors can affect the survival of patients with breast cancer (BC). We estimated BC patients' 5-, 10-, and 15-year survival rates and influential factors in a single medical center during the last three decades.
Methods: We enrolled patients diagnosed with BC managed in the Cancer Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran from 1991 to 2018.
Women with inherited BRCA1/2 mutations are at increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer. The reports on the prevalence and spectrum of these mutations have been primarily focused on individuals with European ancestry. A previous study on Iranian breast cancer patients reported no BRCA1/2 mutation in early-onset breast cancer with no other criteria, which is contrary to other populations.

This study aimed to compare clinical and pathological characteristics, survival rates, and recurrence patterns between patients with multifocal (MF) and unifocal (UF) breast cancer who underwent breast-conserving surgery, to identify potential differences that could inform clinical management and treatment strategies.
Methods: The study was a retrospective case-control analysis.

Background: Lymph node (LN) involvement, as an important prognostic factor in breast cancer (BC) patients, has a crucial role in their therapeutic approach. Consequently, a great desire is to thoroughly assess the patients based on their axillary LN status. The present study evaluated the characteristics and survival rate of axillary metastatic BC patients in a Tertiary and referral center.

Cancer diagnostic probe (CDP) as a newly entered tool in real-time breast cavity margin evaluation showed great improvement in smart margin shaving intra-operatively. This system increased the rate of involved margin detection to 30% with respect to frozen section. In this study for the first time we showed the independent role of CDP in finding the involved cavity side margins which were not diagnosed by permananet pathology of their tumor side interface.

Background: In this study, we aimed to identify the predicting pathological factors affecting sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in patients with clinically node-negative breast cancer.
Methods: Our single institution retrospective study was conducted at the Cancer Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences from 2018 to 2021. Data were imported into and analyzed using SPSS Version 28 for Windows (IBM Corp.
Objective: Malignant gliomas constitute the most common type of primary malignant brain tumors. Most previous studies have evaluated the epidemiology of malignant gliomas in developed countries. Hence, there is a lack of evidence in this regard from developing countries.

Lymph node (LN) status is an essential prognostic factor in breast cancer (BC) patients, with an important role in the surgical and therapeutic plan. Recently, we have been developed a novel system for real-time intra-operative electrical LN scanning in BC patients. The ELS scores were calibrated by pathological evaluation of the LNs.

Recent research has highlighted the promising potential of cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) in cancer therapy. However, variations in study outcomes are attributed to differences in CAP devices and plasma parameters, which lead to diverse compositions of plasma products, including electrons, charged particles, reactive species, UV light, and heat. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the optimal exposure time, duration, and direction-dependent cellular effects of two CAPs, based on argon and helium gases, on glioblastoma U-87 MG cancer cells and an animal model of GBM.

This study investigated the effect of LRT in patients who were initially diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) on overall survival (OS), locoregional progression-free survival (PFS), and distant systemic PFS.
Methods: The related keywords were searched in MEDLINE/PubMed, SCOPUS, and Web of Science databases up to August 15th, 2022.
HER2 is an important prognostic marker in breast cancer (BC) patients, which also plays a crucial role in their therapeutic plan. Consequently, a great desire is to thoroughly assess the patients based on their HER2 status. In the current study, we aimed to evaluate HER2-low breast cancer as a new subtype in the standard classification of BC patients and review its characteristics and survival rate in a tertiary center in Iran.

Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) is a well-known cytokine that controls various processes in normal physiology and disease context. Strong preclinical and clinical literature supports the crucial roles of the TGF-β in several aspects of cancer biology. Recently emerging evidence reveals that the release of TGF-β from tumor/immune/stromal cells in small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) plays an important part in tumor development and immune evasion.

This study aims to predict the time-related survival probability of BC patients in different molecular subtypes over 30 years of follow-up.
Materials And Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed 3580 patients diagnosed with invasive breast cancer (BC) from 1991 to 2021 in the Cancer Research Center of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Science.
Breast cancer, with a high prevalence and survival rate, leads to long-term complications. A major sequel is acute or chronic postoperative pain, and we investigated the possible relationship with clinical and psychological variables. Patients undergoing breast surgery filled out the loneliness (ULS-8) and depression (HADS) questionnaires.

Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common challenges for women's health. Until now, neoadjuvant chemotherapy is a standard approach in locally advanced breast cancer (LABC), as it increases the probability of breast-conserving surgery (BCS). This study aimed to compare the survival rate in neoadjuvant and adjuvant groups to suggest a better treatment strategy for locally advanced breast cancer.
