The utilization of microbial agents for the management of white grub has been a long-standing practice in biocontrol. In a previous study, we isolated entomopathogenic bacteria WGPSB-2 from the Himalayan region. To gain insights into the genetic characteristics and potential mechanisms underlying the pathogenicity of WGPSB-2, we performed genomic analysis of WGPSB-2.

This literature review systematically examines virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies in ergonomics and workspace design using a comprehensive dataset of scholarly articles from Web of Science database. A hybrid review methodology integrating both bibliometric and content analysis used HistCite enabled citation-based analysis and performance mapping on 279 articles. Bibliographic coupling analysis using VOSviewer identified five major research themes based on two distinct perspectives: (1) application of VR/AR as tools for improving ergonomic assessments and workspace design, and (2) ergonomic implications of VR/AR system usage.

This study investigates the phase separation kinetics of binary (AB) polymer blends under various shear conditions using dissipative particle dynamics simulations. The system, confined by two parallel walls, is subjected to different shear cases, including stationary and moving walls. The simulations explore critical and off-critical polymer compositions, analyzing morphological evolution, scaling behavior, domain growth, and structural anisotropy.

Root-knot nematode () causes up to 30% yield loss in tomato () worldwide, and reliance on synthetic nematicides poses serious environmental and health risks. This study explores sustainable alternatives by evaluating the nematicidal potential of sp and essential oils and extracts, along with and , under both and microplot conditions. Essential oils exhibited significant juvenile mortality and egg hatching inhibition at low concentrations, outperforming solvent extracts.

Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) from the families Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae are biocontrol agents for the management of a wide range of insect pests. There is a tremendous opportunity for the discovery of new nematode strains and species adapted to local environmental conditions and insect pests. Therefore, in the present study, efforts were made to isolate EPN strains/species from the Northwestern Himalayas (NWH) region.

Background: Visceral leishmaniasis-human immunodeficiency virus (VL-HIV) co-infection has emerged as a serious concern, which could adversely affect the VL elimination efforts of the country. These patients have a poor VL therapeutic success rate, more drug-related toxicity, and relapses resulting in high mortality. Despite the emerging pattern of VL-HIV co-infection, there have been limited studies analyzing the presentation of VL-HIV co-infection in Bihar, India.

This study investigated breed-specific compositional and metabolic differences in milk from Barbari (BaGM) and Beetal (BeGM) goats, two prominent Indian breeds. Physicochemical analysis revealed no significant differences (p > 0.05) in pH, acidity, fat, protein, or total solids, although BaGM had higher solids-not-fat, and BeGM exhibited higher ash content (p > 0.

Wheat rust is a severe fungal disease that significantly impacts wheat crops, resulting in substantial losses in quality and quantity, often exceeding 50%. Timely and early accurate estimation of disease severity in fields is critical for effective disease management. Early identification of Rust at low severity levels can facilitate prompt implementation of control measures, potentially saving crops.

Background: ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling complexes of the imitation switch (ISWI) family slide and space nucleosomes. The ISWI ATPase subunit forms obligate complexes with accessory subunits whose mechanistic roles remain poorly understood. In baker's yeast, the Isw2 ATPase subunit associates with Itc1, the orthologue of human ACF1/BAZ1A.

Background: The advances in technology have enabled the customization of appliances including mini-screw-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) appliances for skeletal expansion in young adult patients. The study assessed the short-term effects of customized MARPE appliances on the hard tissues, soft tissues, and airway volume over a period of 6 months.

Methods: A total of 15 patients in the age range of 15 to 25 years were treated for transverse maxillary deficiency using a three-dimensional (3D) printed customized MARPE appliance.

Introduction: In Uttar Pradesh, India, there are many fatal head injuries as a result of road traffic accidents (RTAs). Studying the pattern and distribution of intracranial hemorrhages, a frequent complication of severe head trauma might provide vital information on the efficacy of traffic safety regulations. To improve road safety tactics and lower fatal head injuries in Uttar Pradesh, this study intends to assess the effect of road safety measures on the frequency and distribution of intracranial hemorrhages in fatal head injury patients.

Background and objective Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) encompasses a spectrum of liver conditions caused by excessive alcohol consumption, including fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, and cirrhosis. Both phenotypical and biochemical changes in gonadal hormones are observed across these stages. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical, biochemical, and hormonal abnormalities in patients with varying degrees of ALD and to assess their correlation with disease severity.

Spring water is a vital drinking resource for residents in the Eastern Himalayas' Sikkim, India. While our initial investigations into spring water quality highlighted concerning levels of fecal coliform bacteria, the bacterial community composition (BCC) of these springs remains largely unexplored. This study sought to elucidate the BCC of Himalayan spring water, exploring its effects on water quality and delving into the unique bacterial ecology of these high-altitude springs.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted to evaluate the treatment outcomes of single-dose liposomal amphotericin B for visceral leishmaniasis (VL) and post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL), involving 527 cases, primarily VL.
  • The cure rate for VL was found to be 95%, with significant differences in treatment success between genders and age groups; males had higher success rates than females, while younger patients (≤23 years) also fared better.
  • The study highlighted that PKDL patients treated with this drug had a significantly shorter duration of disease development compared to those who received alternative treatments, emphasizing the need for ongoing monitoring of treatment strategies.

Introduction: Goat milk has poorer fermentation characteristics due to the absence or only traces of αs1-casein, due to which goat yoghurt contains a less dense gel structure. Moreover, the fermentation characteristics of the milk vary between the breeds of the same species. Therefore, it becomes imperative to explore a few metabolites which could regulate the techno-functional properties of goat yoghurt.
