Objective: Analyze the effect of work organization and demands, violence, health problems and job satisfaction in relation to work stress and social support in prison officers.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study with prison police officers from four penitentiaries in São Paulo. The Demand-Control-Support Questionnaire was used and adjusted multinomial regressions were performed to obtain the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI).
Context: Emerging evidence suggests the quality of plant-based diets may play a pivotal role in the primary prevention of certain nonfatal diseases. However, its impact on mental and neurocognitive health conditions remains to be elucidated.
Objective: To synthesize the available evidence on the cross-sectional and prospective associations of adherence to overall, healthy, and unhealthy plant-based diets with mental and neurocognitive health outcomes in the general adult population (aged ≥18 years).
Emotional eating has been associated with a range of negative health outcomes. Research regarding chronotype and emotional eating among adolescents is limited. Thus, this study aimed to verify the association between chronotype and emotional eating in a sample of Spanish adolescents aged 12-17 years.

The 20-item Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale for Children and Adolescents (CES-DC) is an instrument for screening of depression with good psychometric properties. This study aimed to examine the construct validity in terms of structural and convergent validity, the internal consistency, and the concurrent validity of a shorter 10-item version of this scale. This was a cross-sectional validation study including 671 schoolchildren aged 9-11, from Cuenca, Spain.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to examine the relationships of social network (SN) use and SN addictive behaviors with self-esteem in Spanish adolescents. The use of specific social media platforms and their associated addictive behaviors related to self-esteem were also evaluated.
Methods: This cross-sectional study used secondary data from the Eating Healthy and Daily Life Activities (EHDLA) project, which included a representative sample of adolescents aged 12-17 years from the in the Region of Murcia, Spain.
Background And Aims: Although many studies have focused on the impact of physical activity on hormone-mediated tumors, its effect on uterine leiomyomas (UL) remains unclear. This systematic review synthesizes the scientific evidence on the role of physical activity in the occurrence and symptomatology of UL while putting forward a research agenda.
Methods: The PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for studies published up to January 10, 2025.
Background: Social determinants of health (SDH) have been shown to be predictors of health outcomes. Integrating SDH screening tools into primary care may help identify individuals or groups with a greater burden of social vulnerability and promote health equity.
Objective: This study aimed (1) to identify the existing screening tools to assess social deprivation in adults in primary care settings; (2) to describe the characteristics of these tools and, where appropriate, their psychometric properties; (3) to describe their validity and reliability in those scales in which validation processes have been conducted; and (4) to identify evidence gaps and provide recommendations for future research.

Objective: The current study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the relationships between social network (SN) use, messaging apps use, and addictive behaviors related to SNs, and sleep-related problems in a sample of Spanish adolescents.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study using data from the Eating Healthy and Daily Life Activities (EHDLA) project, which involved adolescents aged 12-17 years from three secondary schools in (Region of Murcia, Spain). A sample of 632 adolescents was studied.
Background: Recent evidence from both randomized controlled trials and cohort studies in adults suggests that plasma remnant cholesterol (RC) levels predict cardiovascular disease. In children, studies are scarce, although high levels of RC might represent a marker of early atherosclerotic damage. Thus, the aim of this study was to explore the cardiometabolic risk associated with RC, which extends beyond low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) in children.

Background: Severe mental disorders, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and other psychosis have been associated with risk of premature mortality, predominantly due to cardiovascular diseases and metabolic syndrome. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to examine the efficacy of hybrid psychosocial interventions combining face-to-face and eHealth components for patients with severe mental disorders on reduction of weight and waist circumference.
Method: The electronic search on PubMED, PsycINFO, EMBASE, Web of Science were conducted, and data were extracted twice.

Increase in time spent on social media and its association with depressive symptoms, especially among young adults, has generated the need to understand how this association occurs in order to support the development of policies to reduce harm and complications. In view of this fact, this study aimed to assess the mediating effect of social media addiction and sleep quality on the association between time spent on social media and depressive symptoms in Brazilian university students. This is a cross-sectional study conducted with 2,823 university students, who provided information regarding time spent on social media, social media addiction, depressive symptoms and sleep quality.

We hypothesized that university students with greater adherence to the Mediterranean Diet (MedDiet) would have better academic achievement. A cross-sectional study was performed involving 266 first-year students from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Fried's frailty phenotype, composed of 5 criteria, is one of the most used instruments for its assessment. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of these criteria among PLHIV classified as prefrail and frail in Brazil.

Therefore, this study aimed to estimate the association between time spent on social media (TSSM) and depressive symptoms and to examine whether this relationship is mediated by psychoactive substances in students.
Methods: Our cross-sectional analysis included a sample of students from a university in a large city in southern Brazil.

Context: High adherence to the Mediterranean diet (MD) has been associated with a reduced risk of depression in prospective cohort studies, but whether MD interventions are effective among adults with depression is uncertain.
Objective: This study aimed to synthesize findings on the effects of MD interventions on the severity of depressive symptoms in adults with depression.
Data Sources: PubMed, Cochrane CENTRAL, PsycINFO, Scopus, and Web of Science were systematically searched from database inception to March 2023.
Background: The prevalence of mental health-related problems has increased in recent years, especially among young adults, such as university students. Several measurement instruments have been developed to identify individuals at risk for depression, such as the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). However, different dimensional structures of the PHQ-9 can make it difficult to interpret and compare research results.
