Bosch-Boonstra-Schaaf optic atrophy syndrome (BBSOAS) is a rare, autosomal dominant neurodevelopmental disorder caused by pathogenic variants in NR2F1, characterized by developmental delay, intellectual disability, optic nerve anomalies, and autism spectrum disorder. Most pathogenic variants cluster within the highly conserved DNA-binding domain (DBD) or ligand-binding domain (LBD) of NR2F1 and are associated with variable clinical severity, suggesting a genotype-phenotype correlation. While previous mouse models have provided important insights, comprehensive behavioral characterization remains limited.

Laryngeal sensory neuropathy (LSN) is an under-recognized cause of chronic laryngopharyngeal symptoms, including cough. This study aimed to investigate the role of superior laryngeal nerve (SLN) block in the management of LSN.A prospective interventional study was conducted at a tertiary care center over two years (January 2023 to December 2024).

Objective: Tracheo-innominate artery fistula (TIF) is a rare but devastating complication of tracheostomy. A systematic review was performed with the aim of identifying the factors associated with favorable outcomes in cases of TIF post-tracheostomy.
Data Sources: Literature search conducted using PubMed/Medline, Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, Scopus, and Google Scholar.

Objective: The Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics Frailty Index (SLICC-FI) as a predictor of quality of life (QoL) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has not been evaluated longitudinally. We estimated the association of SLICC-FI scores with future QoL in our prevalent Latin American Mestizo cohort.
Methods: Patients from a single-center SLE cohort were included.

Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in chronic kidney disease patients, necessitating effective management to prevent adverse outcomes. This study evaluates the efficacy of surgical intervention in achieving biochemical balance in SHPT patients resistant to medical therapy. The study includes 36 patients with SHPT who underwent subtotal parathyroidectomy following failed medical management.

Angina Bullosa Hemorrhagica is characterized with rapid appearance of soft, blood-filled blisters on the mucosa of oral cavity and oropharynx. It is a benign condition, and is not associated with any systemic hematological disorder. No etiological factors have been identified and there are no established guidelines for its management.

However, technical and logistical challenges preclude its usage for hearing screening at primary healthcare facilities. Free field hearing (FFH) tests such as conversation voice (CV) and whispered voice (WV) tests have been used for hearing assessment.

Hemangiomas are benign tumors of vascular origin commonly affecting head and neck region. Laryngeal Hemangiomas are however rare and have no well-defined management protocols. We present an interesting case of a 42-year-old adult who was diagnosed as a case of Laryngeal Hemangioma based on clinical and radiological findings and was managed with local injection of sclerosing agent followed by CO Laser fulguration.

Posturography is a tool for quantitative measurement of balance in various static and dynamic test conditions. Current medical grade Posturography systems are very costly and rare outside research institutes. The Wii Balance Board is an inexpensive gaming device which works on similar principles and uses the center of pressure of an individual as an input for motion-controlled gaming.

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) is postulated to be caused due to a multitude of factors, but a definitive cause is seldom found despite extensive investigations. We present a rare case of sudden SNHL in which central venous thrombosis was found on magnetic resonance imaging. The case highlights the importance of neuroimaging in all cases of sudden SNHL before being labelled as "idiopathic" so that targeted therapy can be given.

Otitis media with effusion (OME) has a detrimental effect on balance, which may not present as a clear symptom in children. This effect can be improved by the insertion of ventilation tubes. This study assesses balance in children suffering from OME pre and post operatively using computerized static posturography.

The current standard of care for surgical management of Otosclerosis is small fenestra stapedotomy, which can be done by CO Laser assisted as well as conventional techniques. Vertigo is the commonest complication after stapes surgery. The use of CO Laser has been rising recently owing to its no touch principle, high precision and possibly lower risk of vertigo post operatively.

During the past few decades, food industry has explored various novel thermal and non-thermal processing technologies to minimize the associated high-quality loss involved in conventional thermal processing. Among these are the novel agitation systems that permit forced convention in canned particulate fluids to improve heat transfer, reduce process time, and minimize heat damage to processed products. These include traditional rotary agitation systems involving end-over-end, axial, or biaxial rotation of cans and the more recent reciprocating (lateral) agitation.

Response surface methodology was used to optimize the fermentation medium for enhancing naringinase production by Staphylococcus xylosus. The first step of this process involved the individual adjustment and optimization of various medium components at shake flask level. Sources of carbon (sucrose) and nitrogen (sodium nitrate), as well as an inducer (naringin) and pH levels were all found to be the important factors significantly affecting naringinase production.
