Cytotoxicity Studies of the Crude venom and Fractions of Persian Gulf Snail (Conus textile) on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Normal Lymphocytes.

Background: Marine animals have been considered by many researchers due to their various pharmacological effects. One group of marine animals that have been studied is cone snails. The conotoxin obtained from these marine animals has various therapeutic effects.

The Effects of Scorpion Venom on Electrophysiological Properties of Magnocellular Neurons of Rat Supraoptic Nucleus.

 (BS) scorpion venom consists of several polypeptides that could modulate ion channels. In this study, the effects of BS crude venom on passive and active electrophysiological properties of rat neurons in supraoptic nucleus (SON) of hypothalamus was investigated using whole-cell patch clamp technique. The results showed that bath application of BS venom produced significant change in passive properties of SON neurons, namely a decrease in resting membrane potential and an increase in input resistance of the cells.

Lack of BRAFV600E mutation in stage I and II of colorectal cancer.

Aim: We aimed to explore the frequency of BRAFV600E mutation in Iranian patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) as well as its association with clinic pathological characteristic of patients.

Background: CRC is the third leading cause of cancer related death. There is a growing body of data showing the association of BRAFV600E mutation with malignant transformation and clinical outcome of different tumors, including CRC.
