Objective: This multicenter study aimed to investigate resting-state brain functional alterations in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) comorbid with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and to elucidate the underlying neural mechanisms.
Methods: A total of 139 participants were enrolled from two centers, including 48 healthy controls (HCs), 46 T2DM patients, and 45 T2DM with OSA patients. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) was used to assess brain function using degree centrality (DC), amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), and seed-based functional connectivity (FC).

Rationale And Objectives: To investigate the efficacy and safety of microwave ablation (MWA) in treating T1N0M0 papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) adjacent to Berry's ligament (BL).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study examined 141 patients who underwent MWA for BL-adjacent PTC between January 2015 and December 2023. All procedures utilized perithyroidal fascial space-based hydrodissection and standardized ablation protocols.
Objective: This study examines the trends in thyroid cancer incidence and mortality and explores their relationship with national development levels.
Methods: Data on thyroid cancer from 47 countries were sourced from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 study, covering the years 1990-2021. National development was measured using the Human Development Index (HDI), Social Progress Imperative (SPI), Nutrition and Medical Care (NMC), the Density of Doctors per 100,000 population (DOD), and Personal Healthcare Spending (PHS).

In this study, a novel RP-HPLC-MS/MS method was developed for the accurate quantification of baloxavir in rat plasma. The analytes were retained and separated on a C18 column, and a triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source was applied for quantification. Baloxavir could be well retained in the C18 column under the appropriate chromatographic conditions.

Social security systems, including pension schemes, healthcare benefits, and unemployment support, are essential for shaping societal wellbeing by influencing healthcare access, labor market participation, and overall economic resilience. However, traditional methods for evaluating these systems often fail to capture the complex dynamics of policy interventions over time.

In order to maintain the sustainability of such agricultural products, animal production should be made more efficient through better management and production techniques. Ruminating animals such as cows and sheep have been used for the synthesis of dairy products, the production of high-quality meat, and the study of reproductive mechanisms.

The small brown planthopper (SBPH) serves as the primary vector to transmit the viruses. The physical barriers preventing virus transmission in non-vectors have remained largely unexplored.

Under diabetic conditions, renal cells undergo significant lipid metabolic abnormalities, including increased lipid uptake, impaired fatty acid oxidation, disrupted cholesterol efflux, and enhanced lipid catabolism, as adaptive responses to metabolic stress. These changes result in the accumulation of lipids such as free fatty acids, diacylglycerol, and ceramides, leading to lipotoxicity that triggers inflammation and fibrosis.

Symptomatic tissues were collected, and bacterial isolation and purification were performed. The bacterium was identified through morphological characterization of the colonies, pathogenicity assays, tobacco hypersensitivity tests, and specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification, followed by sequence analysis.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical effect of autologous fat grafting for treating cervical skin fibrosis in patients with oral cancer after neck dissection with or without radiotherapy.
Methods: A total of 20 patients who underwent oral cancer resection and neck dissection in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from October 2022 to July 2023 were enrolled, 7 patients were treated with radiotherapy after neck dissection and 13 patients were treated with neck dissection. According to the degree of face-neck depression, the range of fibrosis and the function of neck and shoulder, corresponding volume of autologous fat was used to fill the depression.

Lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) is one of the most common subtype of lung cancer and is associated with the poor prognoses. The fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) family is known to be activated through fusions with various partners across multiple cancer types, including nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). FGFR inhibitors are currently undergoing clinical evaluation for the treatment of tumors harboring these fusions.

Qingre Huayu Jianpi decoction (QHJ) has good prevention and treatment effects on colitis-associated colon cancer (CAC) and sporadic colorectal carcinoma subtypes in clinical application, but its multi-target mechanism of action against intestinal tumors requires elucidation through integrative pharmacology approaches.
Aim Of The Study: To evaluate the preventive and therapeutic effects of Qingre Huayu Jianpi decoction (QHJ) on colon cancer, particularly focusing on its impact on colon cancer stem cell (CSC) proliferation and cancer-associated fibroblast (CAF) activation.

BackgroundProne ventilation improves lung function in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome by enhancing oxygenation; however, managing enteral nutrition during prone ventilation is challenging due to body position changes.ObjectiveThe objective of the study was to assess the safety and efficacy of enteral nutrition during prone ventilation. A meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of enteral nutrition in the prone position in critically ill ventilated patients.

Methods: This single-center, randomized controlled clinical trial enrolled 333 patients, who were divided into either the QZQT group (QZ pellets, 3.2 g, three times daily; rabeprazole, 10 mg, twice daily; amoxicillin 1000 mg, twice daily; clarithromycin, 500 mg, twice daily) or the BQT group (bismuth potassium citrate, 1000 mg, three times daily; rabeprazole, 10 mg, twice daily; amoxicillin, 1000 mg, twice daily; clarithromycin, 500 mg, twice daily) for 14 d.
With the increase of coal seam mining intensity in the western mining area, which has the typical mining geological characteristics of shallow burial depth, thin bedrock and thick loose layer, the structure of overburden rock has also changed greatly. When there is only one key layer structure in the thick bedrock and it is close to the coal seam, the strata pressure and surface crack development law of the working face are different from those of previous research results. Based on the research background of 52,307 large mining height working face in Daliuta Coal Mine, this paper adopts similar simulation and numerical simulation techniques to systematically study the strata pressure and surface crack development laws of the working face under the roof condition of such main key layer.

Methods: The study group comprised 63 adult inpatients who underwent FESS in our department after mild-to-moderate SARS-CoV-2 infection between December 2022 and February 2023. Sixty adult patients without prior SARS-CoV-2 infection were randomly selected as the control group.
The transcriptomic analysis was used to explore the effect of electroacupuncture therapy with distant-approximal acupoints based on the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular (HPT) on gene expression patterns and pathways in oligoasthenospermia (OAT) rats. In this study, the rat model of OAT after intragastric administration of adenine was selected as the research object, and randomly divided into a blank group (C), a model group (M), and a electroacupuncture therapy with distant-approximal acupoints group (D). After electroacupuncture intervention, the epididymal sperm quality and serum sex hormone levels of rats was detected and three tissue samples of HPT axis were taken, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened by transcriptome sequencing technology.

However, the mechanisms by which lactate promotes liver cancer progression remain poorly understood. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), characterized by the loss of epithelial cells polarity and cell-cell adhesion, leading to the acquisition of mesenchymal-like phenotypes, is widely recognized as a key contributor to liver cancer progression.
