Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by diverse symptoms and multisystem involvement. Pediatric-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (pSLE) accounts for 10-20% of all SLE cases and tends to progress more rapidly and severely than adult-onset SLE, making diagnosis more challenging. Current biomarkers remain insufficient in predicting disease severity and organ-specific complications, highlighting the need for new biomarkers.

This paper presents an infinite impulse response (IIR) temporal filtering technique for real-time stimulus artifact rejection (SAR) based on template subtraction. A system architecture for the IIR SAR algorithm is developed, and the operation of the algorithm with fixed-point computation is analyzed to obtain the number of bits for the internal nodes of the system, considering dynamic range and fraction length requirements for optimum performance. Further, memory initialization with the first recorded stimulus artifact is proposed and shown to significantly decrease the IIR system response time, especially when artifacts are highly reproducible in consecutive stimulation cycles.

A new dual high-speed counter-current chromatographic system using organic extraction phase and aqueous mobile phase containing methylene blue was applied to the analysis of anionic-type detergents. After selecting appropriate conditions such as flow rate of each mobile phase and sample volume, the new system was successfully applied to the analysis of anionic detergent in river water. As all the analytical procedures can be made in a closed system, the method has no health hazard.
