Global Burden of Human Metapneumovirus: Bridging Gaps in Prevention, Diagnostics and Treatment.

Human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a respiratory virus with a significant impact, particularly on the paediatric population, yet it remains an under-recognized contributor to respiratory infections globally. Recent epidemics in China, India and Europe underscore its clinical burden, with severe cases linked to bronchiolitis, pneumonia and exacerbations of chronic conditions. Despite its impact, hMPV remains underdiagnosed due to limited access to molecular diagnostics and routine surveillance, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

Patchouli Ethanol Extract Benth. Against Aging Profiles in Doxorubicin-Induced 3T3-L1 Fibroblast Cell Lines.

Objectives: This research aimed to investigate the potential of Benth's ethanolic extract (PCEE) as an antiaging agent.

Methods: We treated 3T3-L1 cells induced by doxorubicin with PCEE and assessed them with antiaging markers such as gene and telomere length with polymerase chain reaction (PCR), or reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation with 2,7-dichlorofluorescein diacetate (DCFHDA).

Results: This study demonstrates that PCEE can inhibit ROS accumulation, decrease the expression level of the senescence-associated β-galactosidase (SA-β-gal) and maintain telomere length in doxorubicin-induced 3T3-L1 cells.

Strengthening the EU Health Technology Assessment Regulation: Integrating National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups for Comprehensive Vaccine Assessments.

Background: Given their crucial role in vaccine assessment, National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) should be considered in the Regulation on Health Technology Assessment (EU HTAR) to maximize the benefits of the EU HTAR for vaccines. This review and perspective piece identifies the gaps arising from NITAGs potential lack of involvement and proposes strategies for involving them.

Methods: A targeted literature and guideline review was conducted to evaluate NITAGs' current and future role in relation to the EU HTAR.

The Hippo signaling pathway, through its effectors' yes-associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), plays a pivotal role in heart development, regeneration, and repair. Despite the well-recognized role of YAP in promoting cardiomyocyte proliferation and differentiation, the underlying mechanisms require further explanation. Therefore, this scoping review was conducted to explore the underlying mechanisms of YAP and TAZ in cardiomyocyte biology.

Clinical variability of recurrent oral HSV-1 infection with a high level of serum IgG antibody: Three case reports.

Recurrent HSV-1 infection has various clinical features. This case report addresses three differences in the oral clinical manifestation of HSV-1 with the same high level of IgG titers reaching 200 U/mL. IgG antibody level indicates the state of recurrency but does not correlate with clinical features.
