In this work, the superbase-mediated self-organization of tetrasubstituted pyrroles from three molecules of acetylenes and one molecule of nitriles was theoretically investigated. On the example of interaction of phenylacetylene with benzonitrile in the KOBu/DMSO medium, three possible pathways of the assembly of 2-benzyl-3,5-diphenyl-4-phenylethynyl-1-pyrrole have been studied using a combined B2PLYP-D3/6-311+G**//B3LYP-D3/6-31+G* quantum chemical approach. The calculated activation barriers correspond to mild reaction conditions (room temperature for 15 min).

We present a method for probing the quantum capacitance associated with the Rydberg transition of surface electrons on liquid helium using radio-frequency (rf) reflectometry. Resonant microwave excitation of the Rydberg transition induces a redistribution of image charges on capacitively coupled electrodes, giving rise to a quantum capacitance originating from adiabatic state transitions and the finite curvature of the energy bands. By applying frequency-modulated resonant microwaves to drive the Rydberg transition, we systematically measured a capacitance sensitivity of 0.

Magnon-phonon hybridization in ordered materials is a crucial phenomenon with significant implications for spintronics, magnonics, and quantum materials research. We present direct experimental evidence and theoretical insights into magnon-phonon coupling in Mn_{3}Ge, a kagome antiferromagnet with noncollinear spin order. Using inelastic x-ray scattering and ab initio modeling, we uncover strong hybridization between planar spin fluctuations and transverse optical phonons, resulting in a large hybridization gap of ∼2  meV.

Bridging feeling and motion: Insula-premotor dynamics in the processing of action vitality forms.

Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A

September 2025

Istituto di Neuroscienze, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Parma 43125, Italy.

Typically, people perform actions in a valenced-positive or negative-way, depending on their attitudes or desires. These forms of action are named vitality forms (VFs). While it is well established that action goals are mediated by a parieto-frontal network, less is known about the processing of VFs.

Objective: To develop and implement a method for determining the postmortem interval and the marginal errors of its estimates under conditions of linearly varying external temperature in the format of an online application.

Material And Methods: A computer-assissted numerical search for the absolute minimum point of the objective function obtained from a system of nonlinear equations reflecting the results of double rectal or cranioencephalic thermometry of a corpse under conditions of linearly varying external temperature was carried out. The search algorithm was generalized to possible marginal errors in measuring the initial indicators of temperature and time.

Two expert reports of medical malpractice cases, in one of which there was a conclusion about the presence of a direct causal relationship with the natural course of the disease, and the other - with the incorrect actions of the doctor, were analyzed. Methodological approaches to solving such issues are discussed. It is recommended to use the logical method of hypothetical elimination of incorrect actions of medical professionals in order to avoid errors.

Genetic variants in HSP40 co-chaperones modulate ischemic heart disease risk.

Mol Biol Rep

September 2025

Laboratory of Genomic Research, Research Institute for Genetic and Molecular Epidemiology, Kursk State Medical University, Kursk, 305041, Russia.

Background: The chaperoning system, which is responsible for protein homeostasis, plays a significant role in cardiovascular diseases. Among molecular chaperones or heat shock proteins (HSPs), the HSP40 family, the main co-chaperone of HSP70, remains largely underexplored, especially in ischemic heart disease (IHD) risk.

Materials And Results: We genotyped 834 IHD patients and 1,328 healthy controls for three SNPs (rs2034598 and rs7189628 DNAJA2 and rs4926222 DNAJB1) using probe-based real-time PCR.

In this work, an approach enabling the synthesis of η-alkene lithium complexes (Carb)Li(η-L) (L = 1-octene, cyclohexene) is elaborated. For 1,5-hexadiene, the same approach results in a binuclear μ-η:η-diene complex. The QTAIM parameters reveal the electrostatic nature of the Li-alkene interaction.

Serendipitous synthesis of 4,4',6,6'-tetrakis(diphenylphosphino)-2,2'-bi(-triazine) (Tr2P4) - a novel promising polyphosphine ligand - from cyanuric chloride and diphenylphosphine is reported. This unusual reaction represents the first example of tandem C-C/C-P coupling between (het)aryl halides and P-H species, yielding a structurally unique bi(hetaryl)-tetraphosphine. Theoretical study indicates that the 2,2'-bi(-triazine) core arises from hydrolysis of an intermediate [PhP(TrCl)] salt, formed through quaternization of monophosphine Tr(PPh)Cl with cyanuric chloride.
