In many Mediterranean ecosystems, animal tuberculosis (TB), caused by , is maintained by multi-host communities in which cattle and different wildlife species establish interaction networks contributing to transmission and persistence. Most studies have addressed wildlife-cattle disease-relevant interactions, focusing on reservoir hosts, while disregarding the potential contribution of the so-called accidental hosts and/or neglecting wildlife-wildlife interactions. In this work, we aimed to characterise interspecies interactions in an endemic TB risk area and identify the ecological drivers of interaction patterns regardless of the pre-attributed role of host species on TB epidemiology.

The production of high-quality wines is one of the primary goals of modern oenology. In this regard, it is known that the potential quality of a wine begins to be determined in the vineyard, where the quality of the grape, initially, and later that of the wine, will be influenced by the soil properties. Given the spatial variability of the fundamental soil properties related to the potential grape production, such as texture, soil organic matter content, or cation exchange capacity, it seems that a uniform management of a vineyard is not the most optimal way to achieve higher grape quality.

Soil with excess Mn induces toxicity and impairs crop growth. However, with the development in the soil of an intact extraradical mycelia (ERM) from arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) symbiotic to native Mn-tolerant plants, wheat growth is promoted due to a stronger AMF colonization and subsequent increased protection against Mn toxicity.
