Stable transmission of the genome during cell division is crucial for all life forms and is universally achieved by Aurora B-mediated error correction of the kinetochore-microtubule attachments. Aurora B is the enzymatic subunit of the tetrameric protein complex called the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), and its centromeric enrichment is required for Aurora B to ensure accurate chromosome segregation. Maintenance of ploidy depends on the mitotic kinase Aurora B, the catalytic subunit of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC) whose proficient activity is supported by HP1 enriched at inner centromeres. HP1 is known to associate with INCENP of the CPC in a manner that depends on the PVI motif conserved across HP1 interactors. Purpose: After the popularization of serum immunoglobulin G4 (IgG4) measurement and endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) in our institute, surgical resection for non-neoplastic diseases of the pancreas became less common. Although the incidence of such false-positive cases was clarified in the 10-year period after the introduction of these measures (2009-2018), these data were not compared with the 30 years before 2009 (1979-2008). This study was performed to determine the percentage of autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) that was included during the latter period and how the numbers of false-positive cases differed between the two periods.

Since pembrolizumab, an anti-programmed death-1 (PD-1) antibody, showed a dramatic response to immunogenic cancers with microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) and/or deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) in the pilot clinical trial KEYNOTE-016, subsequent studies have confirmed durable responses of anti-PD-1 inhibitors for MSI-H/dMMR solid tumors. As immunotherapy is described as a "game changer," the therapeutic landscape for MSI-H/dMMR solid tumors including gastrointestinal cancers has changed considerably in the last decade. An MSI/MMR status has been established as the predictive biomarker for immune checkpoint blockades, playing an indispensable role in the clinical practice of patients with MSI-H/dMMR tumors.

Despite the efficient suppression of hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication by nucelos(t)ide analogs, HBV RNA expression usually continues even during nucleots(t)ide analog therapy because episomal covalently closed circular DNA (ccDNA), which is the template for HBV RNA transcription, cannot be eliminated. Here, we found that the common sequences of all HBV RNAs and that encoding the X protein (HBx) have similarities with the sequences of a host cellular microRNA (miRNA), miR129-5p. HBx inhibits miR129-5p function, resulting in increased expression of ZBTB20, a target gene of miR129-5p.
