Increase in breast cancer has led to the search for systems that can enable, targeted, sustained and prolonged release of drugs while simultaneously reducing the side effects posed by them. In light of this, folic acid-conjugated 5-Fluorouracil and doxorubicin loaded chitosan/Fe₃O₄ (FA-dual@CS/Fe₃O₄) nanocomposite has been synthesized using the chemical method for targeted breast cancer therapy in addition to CS/FeO and dual drug encapsulated CS/FeO. FTIR and XPS studies confirm the successful drug encapsulation and FA conjugation.

Tannery wastewater (TWW) is highly complex and is characterised by high contents of organic, inorganic, and nitrogenous compounds, sulphides, chromium, dissolved solids, and suspended solids. Therefore, our novelty lies in identifying the microbes which are used to degrade harmful azo dyes present in tannery effluent. Based upon the rising problems in tannery industries, the untreated effluent is discharged; to achieve zero effluent, the organisms are isolated from tannery effluent identified as (OQ690635) and screened against the degradation potential against the azo dyes and further processed the azo dye-degrading organism for 16S rRNA sequencing.

This study aimed to profile metabolites from five Trichoderma strains and assess their cytotoxic and pharmacological activities, particularly targeting oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). UHPLC-TOF-MS analysis revealed the presence of 25 compounds, including heptelidic acid, viridiol isomers, and sorbicillinol from the different Trichoderma extracts. Pharmacokinetic analysis showed moderate permeability and low interaction with P-glycoprotein, suggesting good drug absorption with minimal interference in cellular uptake.

This study investigates the efficacy of newly synthesized inhibitor with a dual function of corrosion inhibition and biocide for control of microbial influenced corrosion (MIC) in carbon steel API 5LX in the cooling tower water (CTW) environment. Four types of N-substituted tetrabromophthalic inhibitor (N-TBI) were synthesized, and the structural characterization was performed via proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and high-resolution mass spectrometry. These studies revealed the distinctive optical, thermal, and dielectric properties of the synthesized inhibitors.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus, an important food-borne pathogens found to be associated with seafoods and marine environs. It has been a topic of debate for many decades that most pathogens are known to enter a viable but nonculturable (VBNC) state under cold temperature and nutrient limited conditions. The present study examined the time required for the induction of VBNC state and the revival strategies of both the endemic O3:K6 and O1:K25 sporadic strains of V.

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which are constructed using organic-inorganic combination resources, represent an upcoming technology that offers a competitor to silicon-based solar cells. Electron transport materials (ETMs), which are essential to PSCs, are attracting a lot of interest. In this section, we begin by discussing the development of the PSC framework, which would form the foundation for the requirements of the ETM.

The levels of the SELENOF selenoprotein are dramatically reduced in prostate cancer compared to adjacent benign tissue and reducing SELENOF in prostate epithelial cells results in the acquisition of features of the transformed phenotype. It was hypothesized that the aberrant increase in the eiF4a3 translation factor, which has an established role in RNA splicing and the regulation of selenoprotein translation, contributes to the lower levels of SELENOF. Using the available databases, eIF4a3 messenger RNA (mRNA) levels are elevated in prostate cancer compared to normal tissue as is the hypomethylation of the corresponding gene.

Interaction of low-density lipoprotein receptors with proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) plays a vital part in causing atherosclerosis. It is the hidden precursor of clinical myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, CVD and estimates 60% of deaths worldwide. The current need is to design small molecules to prevent the interaction between PCSK9 and LDL receptors.

For low temperature agricultural crop and meat drying, dryers utilizing the renewable energy source (solar energy) appear to be an efficient technique as it is ecofriendly, energy efficient, and available in free of cost. This work presents the experimental investigation on a solar food dryer equipped with external reflectors to enhance the rate of drying efficiency by removing the moisture content available in the anchovy fish. A comparison of conventional open solar drying is carried out to assess the parameters such as drying efficiency, moisture removal rate, and heat energy required for drying the anchovy fish using the modified solar dryer using the natural convection technique.
