Big data analytics have shown great potential to improve decision-making in health, including disease surveillance and healthcare delivery. This scoping review explores how big data supports decision-making in large-scale food fortification (LSFF) and biofortification across the food value chain. Following PRISMA guidelines, we analyzed open-access peer-reviewed literature and gray literature from 2012 to 2022.

Telerobotic surgery has undergone remarkable advances over the past two decades, driven by the integration of sophisticated robotic platforms and modern communication technologies, thereby alleviating many constraints of conventional surgical procedures. Building upon previous studies that focused on individual specialties or specific innovations, this review provides a comprehensive and integrated perspective by tracing the evolution of the field and highlighting applications in gastroenterology, urology, neurology, and cardiology. Landmark achievements include the 2001 transatlantic remote cholecystectomy and the introduction of next-generation platforms such as the Hinotori surgical robot, enabling low-latency remote interventions.

Patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) who are non-responsive to treatments due to specific mutations need alternative CFTR-independent therapies. This study aims to assess the impact of TMEM16a expression by a specific oligonucleotide (TMEM16a ASO) on dysregulated parameters in CF, which will help prepare for preclinical studies. In this study, we analyzed the effects of TMEM16a oligonucleotide within a CF context by evaluating the impact, optimal administration route, toxicity, and specificity in primary cells and various mouse models.

While there is a growing body of literature examining platform dependence and its implications for mental health, much of the research has focused on gig workers with small sample sizes. The lack of large-scale quantitative research, particularly using longitudinal representative data, limits a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic relationship between platform dependence and mental distress. This study uses nationally representative data from the UK and fixed effects models to explore the heterogeneity of gig work, specifically examining differences in mental distress between high-dependence workers (those solely engaged in gig work) and low-dependence workers (those also employed in other jobs).
