The Mental Health Act 1983 (MHA) authorizes the compulsory detention and treatment of people with mental disorders who are perceived to pose a risk to themselves or to others. Since its enactment, there have been concerns that the coercive powers of the Act have been disproportionately used for Black people with mental disorders. This disproportionate impact of the MHA on Black people is most clearly seen in the excessive use of Community Treatment Orders (CTOs).

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the job experiences of early-career social workers with <2 years of experience in hospice and palliative care, examine the expectations of related stakeholders, and propose policy recommendations for the advancement of this field.
Methods: Two focus group interviews were conducted with 10 early-career social workers working in hospice and palliative care settings, and the findings were analyzed using a constant comparative method.
Results: The analysis revealed that while early-career social workers experienced personal growth and a sense of fulfillment in their roles, they also faced various challenges as they adapted to the unique environment and intervention approaches of hospice and palliative care teams.

Home-based palliative care (HBPC) has emerged as a critical model to address the complex needs of individuals with life-limiting illnesses, particularly in super-aged societies. This review explored the key components of HBPC and elaborated on its benefits, challenges, opportunities, and future directions, drawing on international evidence and practical frameworks. HBPC is reported to enhance the quality of life, reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, and increase the likelihood of patients dying in their preferred settings.

Understanding the relationship between macro- and microevolutionary processes and their delimitation remains a challenge. This review focuses on the role of chromosomal rearrangements in plant population differentiation and lineage diversification resulting in speciation, helping bridge the gap between macro- and microevolution through chromosomal evolution. We focus on angiosperms, a group that comprises the majority of extant plant species diversity and exhibits the largest chromosomal and genomic variations.
