Facial synkinesis can lead to unintended activation of perinasal muscles, contributing to dynamic nasal obstruction. To determine whether targeted botulinum toxin injections, compared to no treatment, reduce new ipsilateral nasal obstruction symptoms in patients with facial synkinesis, as measured by patient-reported outcomes and the Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) scale. A retrospective review was conducted of patients presenting with ipsilateral nasal obstruction and synkinesis at a multidisciplinary facial nerve clinic.

The purpose of this study was to characterize the facial morphology of Chinese children with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED) and quantify facial changes after prosthetic treatment. 3-D facial images of 12 HED children were taken and their facial morphology was compared against 28 healthy controls. Facial changes due to denture placement were also quantified.

Respiratory infections can result in intracranial infections and unknown neurological symptoms. The central nervous system lacks classical meningeal lymphatic (circulation) drainage, and the exact underlying mechanisms of how immune cells from the peripheral lymphatic system enter the central nervous system (CNS) remain unknown. To determine whether the perinasal lymphatic system or lymphatic vessels are involved in cerebral immune defence and play a role in causing CNS infections (especially respiratory tract-related infections), we performed an anatomic study to investigate the drainage differences between the perinasal and intracerebral lymphatic systems by using injection of Evans blue and anatomic surgery, together with immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays.

Several unobtrusive sensors have been tested in studies to capture physiological reactions to stress in workplace settings. Lab studies tend to focus on assessing sensors during a specific computer task, while in situ studies tend to offer a generalized view of sensors' efficacy for workplace stress monitoring, without discriminating different tasks. Given the variation in workplace computer activities, this study investigates the efficacy of unobtrusive sensors for stress measurement across a variety of tasks.
