The diversity and distribution of medical and veterinary-relevant fungal diseases in Africa underscore the critical need for a multisectoral One Health strategy to enhance cost-effective preparedness and prevention. This review explores the geographic spread and epidemiology of key medical and veterinary fungi, including , , , , , , , , , , and . Evidence indicates that many of these infections remain underdiagnosed and underreported, especially in vulnerable immunocompromised populations, due to limited surveillance, diagnostic capacity, and awareness. The increasing prevalence of these diseases, often in tandem with rising HIV rates and environmental changes, highlights the urgent need for coordinated efforts across human, animal, and environmental health sectors. Implementing comprehensive, multisectoral interventions-focused on enhancing diagnostic capabilities, public awareness, surveillance, and cross-sector collaboration-is vital for effective prevention and control of these emerging fungal threats in Africa.

The coordination of floral developmental stages with the environment is important for reproductive success and the optimization of crop yields. The timing of different developmental stages contributes to final yield potential with optimal adaptation enabling development to proceed without being impacted by seasonal weather events, including frosts or end of season drought. Here we characterise the role of FLOWERING LOCUS T 3 (FT3) in hexaploid bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) during the early stages of floral development.

An entomological surveillance was carried out in two districts of western Burkina Faso to assess the impact of mass-distributed next-generation long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) (Piperonyl Butoxide (PBO) LLINs and Interceptor® G2) on Anopheles gambiae s.l. populations, focusing on insecticide resistance trends and residual malaria transmission patterns, along with their environmental and operational determinants.

Transition zones exhibit a unique combination of abiotic characteristics derived from the merging of two distinct areas, hosting communities with different thermal tolerance and distribution ranges. Given these characteristics, these zones are key to unmasking the effects of climate change on biodiversity since rapid changes in the sea temperature can favor some populations more than others. This study aimed to investigate the community structure of reef fish in seven islands of the southwestern Atlantic in a transition zone.

Introduction And Importance: Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare disorder of unknown cause which mostly affects young females and involving multi organ system with primarily involving lung.
Presentation Of Case: A 35 year's old female Ethiopian known hypertension patient from Debre Tabor, Ethiopia, Africa; presented with progressively increasing cough with blood tingled sputum of 1-2 Arabic coffee cup per day, progressively increasing exertional shortness of breath and easy fatigability seven years back. Hypertensive and desaturate to level of 88 % at atmospheric air.

Osteoporosis constitutes a significant global health concern, however the development of novel treatments is challenging due to the limited cost-effectiveness and ethical concerns inherent to placebo-controlled clinical trials. Computational approaches are emerging as alternatives for the development and assessment of biomedical interventions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of an In Silico trial technology (BoneStrength) to predict hip fracture incidence by implementing a novel approach designed to reproduce the phenomenology of falls as reported in clinical data, and by testing its accuracy in three virtual cohorts characterised by different risk profiles.
