The non-insulin-based metabolic score for insulin resistance (METS-IR) is a recently developed index aimed at being a practical and efficient alternative biomarker of insulin resistance (IR). This study aimed to investigate the association between METS-IR in euthyroid women in the first trimester of pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. A total of 1810 participants who gave birth at Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital from November 2018 to November 2019 were included in this study.

This study evaluated the effects of a 120-d dietary supplementation with unsaturated fatty acids from soybean grain and flaxseed on oocyte quality, in vitro embryo quality and production, and the metabolic profiles of blood and follicular fluid in Holstein heifers. Twenty-four heifers were assigned to the following treatments: a control diet (CON) and diets supplemented with whole raw soybeans (WRS) or flaxseed (FLX), both formulated to increase ether extract content to approximately 4.5 % dry matter (DM).

Genetic predisposition, inflammation, and oxidative stress are known contributors to the development of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). While genetic factors are non-modifiable, lifestyle, nutritional factors and oxidative stress may represent areas for intervention. This study aimed to assess biochemical markers of oxidative stress and evaluate dietary intake in women with newly diagnosed HT, identified through population-based screening.

Background: The prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) increases with aging, significantly contributing to the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This study aimed to investigate over-time changes in the prevalence of MetS and its components among the elderly population of Iran.
Methods: We analyzed data from the 2016 and 2021 national STEPwise approach to non-communicable disease risk factor Surveillance (STEPS) for participants aged ≥65 who completed all three survey steps (questionnaire-based assessments, physical measurements, and laboratory tests) with no missing data on MetS components.

Atherosclerosis remains a leading cause of cardiovascular disease and mortality worldwide, despite advancements in statin therapies. Here, we aimed to identify potential anti-atherosclerosis drugs by an integrated approach combining network medicine-based prediction with empirical validation. Among the top drugs predicted by the preferred algorithm, mesalazine─a drug traditionally used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, was selected for in vivo validation in ApoE mouse model of atherosclerosis.
