Article Abstract

Solid-state lithium metal batteries equipped with solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are recognized as promising energy storage devices due to their excellent safety and good interfacial contact. However, unstable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) and sluggish Li transport kinetics inhibit their practical application. Herein, a bromine-modified covalent organic framework (Br-COF) with donor (D)-acceptor (A) characteristics is designed and incorporated into PVDF-HFP-based SPEs to regulate electron density for promoting Li migration and high stability LiF-rich SEI formation to solve these problems. The D and A units of Br-COF are confined in particular locations to create independent electron-hole transference channels, achieving rapid electron transfer dynamics, thereby promoting TFSI decomposition to obtain high LiF content SEI. Meanwhile, the strong electron-withdrawing Br-group can adsorb the electron from tetra(p-amino-phenyl)porphyrin (TAPP) to create an electron-rich environment, resulting in the regulation of the Li local coordination environment to facilitate Li transference. Consequently, Br-COF@PVDF-HFP exhibits high ionic conductivity (9.2 × 10 S cm) and Li transference number (0.78). Li|Br-COF@PVDF-HFP|Li cells achieve excellent cycling life (3000 h) at 0.1 mA cm, and LFP|Br-COF@PVDF-HFP|Li and NCM90|Br-COF@PVDF-HFP|Li cells can cycle steadily over 2000 cycles and 250 cycles, respectively. This study provides a reference basis for regulating the electron density of PVDF-HFP-based SPEs to enhance the performance of solid-state LMBs.

The one-photon KV X-ray photoelectron spectra of Na and its hydrated clusters [Na(HO)] ( = 1-6) are dominated by the unusual 1s → 1s3s transition. KV spectroscopy also reveals a pronounced redistribution of the 1s → 1s3p transition cross sections, directly correlated with hydration number and molecular arrangement. Its intrinsic two-step nature, involving simultaneous core ionization and core excitation, enables detailed investigation of solvation-induced electronic structure changes, including dipole-forbidden excitations, core-valence charge transfer, and subtle 1s → V energy shifts.

The activation of methane and other gaseous hydrocarbons at low temperature remains a substantial challenge for the chemistry community. Here, we report an anaerobic photosystem based on crystalline borocarbonitride (BCN) supported Fe-O nanoclusters, which can selectively functionalize C-H bonds of methane, ethane, and higher alkanes to value-added organic chemicals at 12 °C. Scanning transmission electron microscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy corroborated the ultrafine FeOOH and FeO species in Fe-O clusters, which enhanced the interfacial charge transfer/separation of BCN as well as the chemisorption of methane.

The challenge of photocatalytic hydrogen production has motivated a targeted search for MXenes as a promising class of materials for this transformation because of their high mobility and high light absorption. High-throughput screening has been widely used to discover new materials, but the relatively high cost limits the chemical space for searching MXenes. We developed a deep-learning-enabled high-throughput screening approach that identified 14 stable candidates with suitable band alignment for water splitting from 23 857 MXenes.

The strong C-F bond found in per- and poly-fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) makes them resistant to degradation and thus persistent in the environment. One of the most common methods for quantifying PFAS in environmental matrices is to use tandem mass spectrometry. However, the dissociation of ions made by deprotonating PFAS alcohols and acids has only been qualitatively explored.

Immunoelectron Microscopy (IEM) is a technique that combines specific immunolabeling with high-resolution electron microscopic imaging to achieve precise spatial localization of biomolecules at the subcellular scale (< 10 nm) by using high-electron-density markers such as colloidal gold and quantum dots. As a core tool for analyzing the distribution of proteins, organelle interactions, and localization of disease pathology markers, it has irreplaceable value, especially in synapse research, pathogen-host interaction mechanism, and tumor microenvironment analysis. According to the differences in labeling sequence and sample processing, the IEM technology system can be divided into two categories: the first is pre-embedding labeling, which optimizes the labeling efficiency through the pre-exposure of antigenic epitopes and is especially suitable for the detection of low-abundance and sensitive antigens; the second is post-embedding labeling, which relies on the low-temperature resin embedding (e.
