Objective: In this article, we outline a collaborative research program aimed at a more refined understanding of the proximal factors involved in alcohol-facilitated intimate partner violence (IPV) perpetration.
Method: We provide a summary of our research experiences and offer recommendations regarding studies aiming to understand what we term "the how question," which focuses on applying research methods that allow for the investigation of the potential causal mechanisms that underlie the well-established link between heavy alcohol use and IPV perpetration.
Results: We suggest several "gold standard" research methods that allow researchers to yield useful information about how alcohol may cause IPV perpetration, but that are infrequently applied in this research area.

Purpose: To examine the dyadic associations between dyadic appraisal and dyadic coping in dyads of breast cancer couples and the mediating role of family resilience and function in these associations.
Methods: This study employed a multicenter cross-sectional research design with a sample of 252 dyads of breast cancer couples hospitalized in five tertiary hospitals in China from May-November 2023. The Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, Dyadic Coping Inventory, Chinese Family Resilience Assessment and Chinese Family Function Scale were used to conduct the survey, and the Actor‒Partner Interdependence Mediation Model was applied.

Background: Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) imposes substantial care burden on patients and their informal caregivers (CGs), often contributing to nonadherence and impaired quality of life. Existing care models insufficiently address the behavioral and psychosocial dimensions of this burden. To evaluate the feasibility and impact of BeWell360-PKD , a person-centered intervention integrating Health and Wellness Coaching (HWC) and capacity-workload support into ADPKD care, on care burden, adherence, self-efficacy, activation, and resilience.

Background: The patient-physician dyad involves both verbal and nonverbal communication. Traditional methods use quantitative or qualitative coding when analyzing dyadic data of nonverbal communication. Quantitative coding methods can capture the frequency of nonverbal communication, while qualitative coding methods can provide descriptive information on the context and nuance of the nonverbal communication expressed.
