The use of collagen as an active ingredient in cosmetic products is becoming increasingly common. Recently, scientific interest has been focused on fish collagen, which is similar to human collagen and can be extracted from fish by-products. This study evaluates the cosmetic potential of Hydrolyzed Fish Collagen (HFC), testing it both as an aqueous solution (S-HFC) and as a formulation in cosmetic products (F-HFC) containing the same amount of HFC. The effects of S-HFC and F-HFC were evaluated on 2D (endothelial and keratinocyte cells) and 3D (EpiDerm and EpiDerm-FT) skin models. The results demonstrated that HFC, as an active ingredient, shows promising effects on skin physiology, including increased cell viability, enhanced wound healing, and an anti-wrinkle effect.

This study aimed to analyze the amino acid composition and characterize the sequences of collagen peptides from Skipjack tuna bones (TBCPs) by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), and further investigate the function and mechanism of action of TBCPs in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The results showed that TBCPs contain 16 types of amino acids, among which glycine is the most abundant, and hydrophobic amino acids account for 40.75 %.

A prototype bioactive calcium phosphate model-specifically hydroxyapatite (HA) derived from eggshells-was developed using a sodium silicate (NaSiO) solution as an inorganic binder, precursor, and reinforcing agent, in combination with collagen nanofibers for bone engineering applications. The sodium silicate solution, functioning as a waterglass adhesive, introduced cohesive forces within the hydroxyapatite matrix, thereby enhancing its physical, chemical, and mechanical properties. Eggshell-derived bioactive hydroxyapatite offers several advantages, including non-toxicity, biocompatibility, collagen adhesion, and the ability to mimic bone structure, making it suitable for tissue engineering.

We report a uterine myxoid mesenchymal tumor with a novel SS18::VEZF1 gene fusion. The current lesion was identified in a 53-year-old woman who presented with symptomatic "fibroids" showing accelerated growth and heterogeneous morphology on radiologic assessment. Microscopic examination revealed a well-demarcated neoplasm, and the tumor exhibited alternating hypocellular/hyalinized and hypercellular areas, composed of a monomorphic proliferation of spindle, ovoid, and epithelioid cells arranged in sheets.
