Objective: Barriers to contraceptive access in the United States have intensified following the 2022 Dobbs decision, disproportionately affecting marginalized populations. This study aimed to develop and validate the Access to Contraceptive Care and Early Abortion Support Services (ACCESS) measure to assess key dimensions of contraceptive access.
Study Design: We followed a sequential approach to measure development, including: (1) defining constructs and generating items based on existing access frameworks; (2) expert review (n=30); (3) cognitive interviews with patients (n=14); (4) survey administration as part of a randomized trial of individuals considering tubal sterilization (N=440); and (5) psychometric analyses, including exploratory factor analysis and reliability testing.
Results: Factor analysis revealed a two-factor structure: (1) Availability & Awareness (seven items) and (2) Affordability (two items), explaining 51-59% of variance across six contraceptive methods. Internal consistency of the measure was acceptable for four of the six family planning methods assessed. Factor loadings were consistent across methods, and all items demonstrated acceptable content validity.
Conclusions: The ACCESS measure is a valid and reliable tool for assessing contraceptive access in the US. It captures important dimensions of access and can be used to monitor disparities and inform policies aimed at improving reproductive healthcare access.
Implications: Clinicians and policymakers can use this measure to identify barriers, monitor disparities, and direct interventions aimed at improving equitable access to family planning services, particularly in the wake of policy changes that disproportionately impact marginalized populations.

Purpose: Gender bias against girls may affect health-seeking behavior and outcomes of childhood cancer. This study aimed to study the nature and extent of gender bias in health care among caregivers of childhood patients with cancer and also in community.
Methods: This cross-sectional mixed-methods study was conducted in a tertiary cancer hospital and an urban community between July 2021 and July 2023.

Language learning and use relies on domain-specific, domain-general cognitive and sensory-motor functions. Using fMRI during story listening and behavioral tests, we investigated brain-behavior associations between linguistic and non-linguistic measures in individuals with varied multilingual experience and reading skills, including typical reading participants (TRs) and dyslexic readers (DRs). Partial Least Square Correlation revealed a main component linking cognitive, linguistic, and phonological measures to amodal/associative brain areas.

Programmable self-assembly has recently enabled the creation of complex structures through precise control of the interparticle interactions and the particle geometries. Targeting ever more structurally complex, dynamic, and functional assemblies necessitates going beyond the design of the structure itself, to the measurement and control of the local flexibility of the intersubunit connections and its impact on the collective mechanics of the entire assembly. In this study, we demonstrate a method to infer the mechanical properties of multisubunit assemblies using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and RELION's multi-body refinement.

Importance: Patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases (IRDs) frequently experience psychological distress; however, access to psychological support remains limited.
Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of a digital psychological intervention for individuals with IRDs.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Participants aged 18 years or older were recruited across Germany between February 22 and June 4, 2024, if they had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or systemic lupus erythematosus and reported psychological distress and reduced quality of life.

Microbial co-cultures provide significant advantages over commonly used axenic cultures in biotechnological processes, including increased productivity and access to novel natural products. However, differentiated quantification of the microorganisms in co-cultures remains challenging using conventional measurement techniques. To address this, a fluorescence-based approach was developed to enable the differentiated online monitoring of microbial growth in co-cultures.
