Article Abstract

The diagnosis of craniosynostosis, a condition involving the premature fusion of cranial sutures in infants, is essential for ensuring timely treatment and optimal surgical outcomes. Current diagnostic approaches often require CT scans, which expose children to significant radiation risks. To address this, we present a novel deep learning-based model utilizing multi-view X-ray images for craniosynostosis detection. The proposed model integrates advanced multi-view fusion (MVF) and cross-attention mechanisms, effectively combining features from three X-ray views (AP, lateral right, lateral left) and patient metadata (age, sex). By leveraging these techniques, the model captures comprehensive semantic and structural information for high diagnostic accuracy while minimizing radiation exposure. Tested on a dataset of 882 X-ray images from 294 pediatric patients, the model achieved an AUROC of 0.975, an F1-score of 0.882, a sensitivity of 0.878, and a specificity of 0.937. Grad-CAM visualizations further validated its ability to localize disease-relevant regions using only classification annotations. The model demonstrates the potential to revolutionize pediatric care by providing a safer, cost-effective alternative to CT scans.

Sparse Partial Least Squares (sPLS) is a common dimensionality reduction technique for data fusion, which projects data samples from two views by seeking linear combinations with a small number of variables with the maximum variance. However, sPLS extracts the combinations between two data sets with all data samples so that it cannot detect latent subsets of samples. To extend the application of sPLS by identifying a specific subset of samples and remove outliers, we propose an $\ell _\infty /\ell _{0}$-norm constrained weighted sparse PLS ($\ell _\infty /\ell _{0}$-wsPLS) method for joint sample and feature selection, where the $\ell _\infty /\ell _{0}$-norm constrains are used to select a subset of samples.

Motivation: Predicting protein-protein interaction (PPI) sites is essential for advancing our understanding of protein interactions, as accurate predictions can significantly reduce experimental costs and time. While considerable progress has been made in identifying binding sites at the level of individual amino acid residues, the prediction accuracy for residue subsequences at transitional boundaries-such as those represented by patterns like singular structures (mutation characteristics of contiguous interacting-residue segments) or edge structures (boundary transitions between Interacting/non-Interacting residue segments) still requires improvement.

Results: we propose a novel PPI site prediction method named MVSO-PPIS.

Mammography is the main method for early detection of breast cancer, which is still a major global health concern. However, inter-reader variability and the inherent difficulty of interpreting subtle radiographic features frequently limit the accuracy of diagnosis. A thorough assessment of deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for automated mammogram classification is presented in this work, along with the introduction of two innovative multi-view integration techniques: Dual-Branch Ensemble (DBE) and Merged Dual-View (MDV).

Football videos are playing an increasingly important role in event analysis and tactical evaluation within computer vision. Traditional object detection methods, relying on region proposals and anchor generation, struggle to balance real-time performance and accuracy in complex scenarios such as multi-view, motion blur, and small object recognition. Meanwhile, Transformer-based methods face challenges in capturing fine-grained target information due to their high computational cost and slow training convergence.

In lung CT images, mediastinal organ segmentation is crucial for localizing different mediastinal regions. However, existing medical image segmentation methods exhibit significant limitations in modeling the diverse topological structures of organs, sensitivity to intra-class morphological variations, and inter-class feature differentiation. To address these limitations, we propose a novel multi-view parallel convolutional network (MVPCNet), built on an efficient U-shaped encoder-decoder framework.
