Article Abstract

Tracing agricultural products' origin via Sr/Sr is critical for food quality. This study identifies optimal proxy samples for baseline maps by analyzing Sr isotopes in three vegetation life-forms (perennial herbs, shrubs, trees) and their soils under diverse parent materials. The results indicate significant differences in Sr-isotopic composition between roots and soils, likely due to the heterogeneous geological origin of eolian soils. Trees and shrubs grown on residual parent materials exhibit homogeneous isotopic signatures across organs, with Sr/Sr ratios strongly correlated ( > 0.85) with mixed surface vegetation samples. Thus, this study demonstrates that Sr/Sr isoscapes constructed from multispecies vegetation sampling overcome methodological constraints arising from seasonal variations in agricultural traceability. These findings establish a theoretical foundation for a cross-plant-type origin-tracing framework capable of harmonizing divergent crop data sets and have implications for refining the methodology of botanical Sr sourcing.

Background: Parental vaccine hesitancy (VH) remains a public health concern in Georgia, where misinformation and distrust continue to hinder routine childhood immunization. VH is shaped by psychological, sociocultural, and informational factors, including trust in science, public authorities, and religious institutions. This study examined whether trust-related variables were stronger predictors of VH than traditional sociodemographic characteristics.

HealthySteps is an evidence-based, prevention program for families of children ages 0 to 3 integrated into pediatric primary care. Our objective was to synthesize feedback on local implementation of an enhanced HealthySteps+ program from various stakeholder viewpoints to improve implementation. Qualitative data were gathered from HealthySteps+ team members (n = 14), current clinic staff (n = 15), and a focus group of parents serving on the program's advisory committee (n = 7).

Dust palliatives are used to reduce fugitive dust in areas susceptible to erosion by wind and rain. In 2015, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) temporarily approved the use of polymer-based dust palliatives during the construction and operation of a solar energy facility and, in 2019, on a mining access road in Clark County, Nevada. The areas treated with palliative are habitat to the desert tortoise.

Background: A dearth of evidence exists on how to include children and young people in palliative care research.

Aim: We aimed to identify successful practices in involvement, recruitment and data collection with children and young people with life-limiting illness in research.

Design: We synthesised methods from five primary studies from three geographical regions in which children with life-limiting conditions were recruited and interviewed.

Metal-Organic Crystallized Glasses: Microstructure Formation and Their Properties.

Partial crystallization within a glass matrix to form microcrystalline domains offers a pathway to glass-ceramic materials with properties distinct from those of both the parent glass and crystalline phases. This concept has been limited to inorganic glasses. Here, we introduce metal-organic crystallized glasses (MOCGs), prepared by controlling the crystallization process within metal-organic framework (MOF) glasses, and explore their properties.
