Therapeutic Potential of Agmatine in Alcohol Use Disorder: Preclinical insights and future directions.

Behav Brain Res

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a major global health challenge characterized by the recurrence of alcohol consumption, withdrawal symptoms, and significant social, economic, and health-related burdens. Despite conventional treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and medications like disulfiram and naltrexone, the majority of patients do not achieve adequate relief due to the multifactorial nature of this disorder, including mental health issues and neuroadaptive changes. Recent studies demonstrated that chronic alcohol consumption results in the disruption of both the production and signaling of endogenous agmatine, a neuromodulator synthesized from L-arginine.

Objective: Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) present a significant long-term threat to human health attributable to their toxicological properties, chemical stability and propensity for bioaccumulation. This study seeks to explore the correlation between PCDDs exposure and prostate cancer (PCa) through comprehensive analysis.

Methods: The multi-dimensional analysis was conducted based on various online databases.

BACKGROUND Treatment of metastatic vasoactive intestinal peptide tumors (VIPoma) is challenging and requires a careful multidisciplinary approach to achieve optimal disease control. We present a case of metastatic VIPoma with recurring episodes of life-threatening diarrhea necessitating multiple intensive care unit (ICU) admissions. CASE REPORT A 54-year-old man presented with severe watery diarrhea and metabolic acidosis with MRI showing a necrotic pancreatic body mass, and multiple liver lesions.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of Ga-PSMA-11 PET/MRI in prostate cancer (PC) with biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy (RP). It was also aimed to develop a nomogram to predict PET/MRI positivity.

Methods: The data of 140 PC patients who underwent Ga-PSMA-11 PET/MRI for BCR after RP were retrospectively analyzed.

This is the first documented case of recurrent, severe, and highly inflammatory panmyelitis induced by pembrolizumab. A 41-year-old woman with nodular melanoma developed tetraparesis after three cycles of pembrolizumab treatment. Spinal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed extensive longitudinal panmyelitis, and cerebrospinal fluid analysis showed markedly elevated cell counts (3900/mm).
