Article Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the antithrombotic activity of hemp seed peptides derived from trypsin hydrolysates and elucidate their molecular mechanisms using a ponatinib-induced zebrafish () thrombosis model. Through ultrafiltration and LC-MS/MS analysis, we identified 1741 peptide sequences (< 3 kDa), with 67% distributed in the 0.5-1.5 kDa range. In vivo experiments demonstrated that 125 μg/mL hemp seed peptides significantly ameliorated ponatinib-induced thrombosis by increasing 16.55% cardiac erythrocyte staining intensity, enhancing 54.8% blood flow velocity, and restoring 11.2% intersegmental blood vessel diameters. In addition, the observed anticoagulant effect may be partially attributed to upregulated expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 () and down-regulated expression levels of cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase-3 () at the mRNA level. These findings propose hemp seed peptides as novel dietary antithrombotic agents with potential applications in functional food development.

Androgenetic alopecia suppresses hair follicle growth. This occurs via dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which inhibits key molecular pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin and Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) signaling. Exosomes derived from plant callus cultures are promising biomaterials for targeted delivery and regenerative medicine.

The global transition toward plant-based diets has intensified the search for sustainable protein alternatives, positioning hemp-based meat analogs (HBMAs) as a promising solution due to their exceptional nutritional profile and environmental benefits. This comprehensive review critically examines hemp protein research, focusing on extraction technologies, nutritional excellence, functional innovation, and sustainable processing approaches for meat analog development. Hemp seeds contain 25-30% protein, primarily consisting of highly digestible edestin and albumin proteins that provide a complete amino acid profile comparable to soy and animal proteins.

Hemp possesses significant healthcare value due to its rich composition of unsaturated fatty acids and a distinctive golden ratio of linoleic acid to α-linolenic acid. As a promising special-oil crop, it holds substantial potential for development and utilization. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying its lipid metabolic pathways remain poorly understood.

Numerous studies on specific cannabis compounds (cannabinoids and phenolic acids) have demonstrated their therapeutic potential, with their administration methods remaining a key research focus. Transdermal drug delivery (TDD) systems are gaining attention due to their advantages, such as painless administration, controlled release, direct absorption into the bloodstream, and its ability to bypass hepatic metabolism. The thin films obtained via pulsed laser deposition consist of micro- and nanoparticles capable of migrating through skin pores upon contact.
