This study investigates learning transfer processes in the teaching of pure tacts and intraverbals within the context of verbal behavior. The objectives were: to assess whether training pure tacts and intraverbals, through the inclusion of different stimuli, facilitates learning transfer to new impure tacts, and to determine whether one of these verbal operants (pure tact or intraverbal) better promotes learning transfer. The sample included 54 children aged 11-12 years, using a within-subjects experimental design with pre-post measures.

Polymorphic two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) exhibit diverse properties for optoelectronic applications. Here, utilizing phase-engineered MoTe as a prototypical platform, we comprehensively explored its ultrafast and nonlinear optical properties to complete the fundamental framework of phase-dependent optical phenomena in 2D TMDCs. Starting with the phase-selective synthesis of 2H- and 1T'-MoTe with tailored thicknesses, we revealed their distinct photocarrier relaxation mechanisms using intensive power-/temperature-/thickness-dependent transient absorption spectra (TAS).

Background: Prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) causes fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) and is associated with various cognitive and sensory impairments, including olfactory dysfunction. While both genetic and environmental factors contribute to olfactory dysfunction, PAE is considered a significant factor affecting brain development, including the olfactory system. In this study, we investigated the impact of PAE on the developing olfactory bulb (OB), specifically focusing on OB RGCs-radial glial cells that give rise to OB projection neurons.

Using the stable synthetic analogue 3-aza-dehydroxylysyl-phosphatidylglycerol (3adLPG), the putative role of native staphylococcal LPG in inhibiting the antibiotic daptomycin from binding to its target phosphatidylglycerol (PG), was investigated with respect to interfacial interactions between these lipids, daptomycin, and calcium ions. The influence of lipid monolayer/bilayer composition and interfacial ion concentrations upon the structure and integrity of model membranes were probed after daptomycin challenge using a combination of surface x-ray scattering techniques and fluorescence assays. In models representing the membrane composition of the daptomycin susceptible phenotype consisting of PG/3adLPG in a 7:3 M ratio, calcium ions drive the formation of two separate phases; Ca cross-linked PG/PG pairs and PG/3adLPG ion pairs.

Paclitaxel resistance is a major obstacle to achieving long-term remission in patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and effective strategies to overcome drug resistance would have significant clinical impact. In this study, we established a paclitaxel-resistant cell clone, T50R, from the human TNBC cell line MDA-MD-231. Intriguingly, these drug-resistant T50R cells required paclitaxel for proliferation.
