Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that may affect the central nervous system, leading to cognitive impairment associated with chronic inflammation and pain. : To assess the relationship between cognitive function, disease progression, pain intensity, and clinical parameters in patients with RA. : This study included 62 RA patients, including individuals with comorbid conditions. Cognitive performance was assessed using the Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM) battery. Associations between cognitive function and pain intensity (VAS), inflammatory markers (ESR), number of disease flares, and surgical interventions were analyzed. : Patients with isolated RA demonstrated better performance in visuospatial memory and cognitive flexibility compared to those with comorbidities. Increased pain intensity and the number of disease flares were associated with impaired attention, memory, and psychomotor speed. : Chronic pain and high disease activity in RA negatively impact cognitive functions. Routine neuropsychological assessment should be considered in the comprehensive clinical management of RA patients.

Introduction: This study examined the impacts of different negative pressure cupping therapies (PCT) on pain relief, functional recovery, and inflammatory regulation in delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) after high-intensity exercise, with the aim of clarifying the dose-effect relationship.
Methods: In this study, 55 healthy male participants aged 18-25 were selected and divided into 5 groups: the control group (CTR; = 11) and NPCT groups at different levels (-25 kPa, -35 kPa, -45 kPa, and -55 kPa; = 11 in each group). A high-intensity protocol, which included 6 sets of lunges, squats, and squat jumps, was adopted to induce DOMS in the quadriceps femoris.

Objectives: Although the multifactorial nature of chronic pain is well established, research has predominantly examined isolated variables or singular pathways that may contribute to this condition. We use a complex systems perspective to examine the interplay of psychological factors in the context of chronic pain.
Methods: We analyzed two cross-sectional datasets (N=935 and 1366) collected at a pain clinic and rehabilitation center in Belgium from individuals primarily with musculoskeletal pain.
