Both the focus of sustained attention and an individual's readiness to shift attention among spatial locations fluctuate over time. However, the interaction of these ongoing changes in attentional states remains unknown. In the current study, participants completed a modified gradual continuous performance task during which they monitored one of two lateralized streams of black and white images for the appearance of frequent target stimuli, withholding responses to foils.

Leeches are uncommon blood-feeding parasites found in polluted water, posing serious health risks. They typically affect individuals who swim in contaminated streams or drink water that has been contaminated. Once ingested, they can attach in various parts of the upper aero-digestive tract, but leeches in the larynx are rarely observed.

STIP1 homology and U-box containing protein 1 (STUB1), also known as the C-terminus of Hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP), is an E3 ligase that plays a crucial role in removal of misfolded proteins via Hsc70. A DEL screen was run against CHIP to identify small-molecule binders. Two hits were identified that were confirmed by biochemical and biophysical techniques, including 2D NMR.

Advances in organic and gas waste valorization have enabled high-yield production of carboxylic acids, positioning them as promising feedstocks for the bioeconomy. However, carboxylic acids must be activated before downstream use, typically requiring ATP, CoA, or reduced ferredoxin to overcome unfavorable thermodynamics. These activators are costly to generate and divert carboxylic acids into CO-releasing pathways, reducing carbon efficiency.
