Animal allergens, particularly those from cats, dogs, and horses, are significant risk factors for the development of allergic diseases in childhood. Managing animal allergies requires allergen avoidance and, when this is not feasible, specific immunotherapy. Patient history remains the cornerstone of diagnosis, providing the foundation for diagnostic algorithms.

To combine the strengths of Gaussian and non-Gaussian latent variable models, a novel information fusion strategy has recently been proposed under the deep learning framework. Although promising results have been obtained, the critical structure learning problem remains unsolved, which seriously hinders the automation of data-driven modeling and analytics. In this article, the maximal information coefficient (MIC) method is introduced as a measurement of the AS between two latent variables, which has no restriction in the type of data distribution.

Background: Existing research fails to address the complex nature of nonspecific chronic lower back pain (cLBP ) despite its detrimental effect on economic, societal, and medical expenditures.
Objectives: We developed a nurse-led, mobile-delivered self-management intervention-Problem-Solving Pain to Enhance Living Well (PROPEL-M)-and evaluated its usability, feasibility, and initial efficacy for South Korean adults with nonspecific cLBP.
Methods: This study was composed of two phases: (a) lab and field usability testing for a gamified mobile device application; and (b) a pilot study employing a one-arm pre-test and post-test design among adults aged 18-60 years with nonspecific cLBP.

Eye tracking has the potential to be used as a meaningful measure of the consequences of vision impairment (VI), yet a comprehensive test battery is lacking. In this study, we sought to evaluate the feasibility and validity of a test battery of eye movements as a tool to measure visual performance in individuals with VI. A test battery including fixation stability, smooth pursuit, saccades, free viewing, and visual search was administered to 46 athletes with VI and 10 control participants.

Non-invasive glucose monitoring using Raman spectroscopy with 830 nm excitation presents a promising alternative to traditional fingerstick methods for diabetes management research. An integrated in vivo Raman system enables transcutaneous glucose detection and has demonstrated robust performance in oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT), validating its reliability. Inter-subject correlation between spectral features and glucose concentration was addressed by the intensity of the fingerprint peak (I), peak intensity ratio (I/I), and the spectral area ratio (S/S), whose correlation coefficient (R) was 0.
