Nanotechnology allows drugs to be delivered locally and specific cells to be targeted, leading to a promising new therapeutic approach for interstitial lung fibrosis. Hyaluronic acid (HA)-decorated imatinib-loaded liposomes (LIP-HA44700-Im) are developed to target CD44 positive cells for the inhalation treatment of fibrogenic lung disorders. LIP-HA44700-Im are assessed for their uptake and biological activity on respiratory effectors that are related to CD44 expression and compared to undecorated liposomes (LIP).

SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infection has been associated with various cutaneous manifestations presenting concomitantly with and following clinical resolution of active infection. Similarly, a variety of cutaneous conditions after mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccination, including specific local injection-site reactions, type I hypersensitivity, type IV (delayed) responses, and autoimmune-mediated reactions, has been observed. The commonality between natural infection and vaccination-related skin findings suggests a molecular mimicry of an immunologic nature.

Background: Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disease associated with impaired pilosebaceous unit function leading to the development of noninflammatory and inflammatory lesions and, in some cases, persistent post-inflammatory erythema, hyperpigmentation and scarring. Acne pathophysiology is complex, involving altered sebum production and composition, abnormal keratinization, microbiome dysbiosis, and skin inflammation. Conventional therapies, such as topical retinoids, antibiotics and benzoyl peroxide, are the first-line treatments for mild-to-moderate acne, but antibiotic resistance and local adverse effects can have a negative impact on therapeutic outcomes, leading to a growing interest in alternative strategies for disease management.

Micropapular sarcoidosis represents an uncommon variant of cutaneous sarcoidosis, typically presenting with a sudden onset, often resolving without residual scarring, and generally favorable prognosis. Its resemblance to other chronic papular dermatoses makes diagnosis challenging, especially in cases with subtle or localized cutaneous manifestations. We report a case of a 36-year-old female who presented with gradually progressive, asymptomatic skin-colored, and erythematous papules localized to the periorbital and perioral regions over six months.
