Article Abstract

Here, we have demonstrated a terbium(III)-organic framework ([Tb(HBTC)(BTC)(HO)]·4HO, denoted as ) synthesized from 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid (HBTC) and TbCl·6HO under hydrothermal conditions. Notably, exhibits a highly efficient uranyl sensing capability in complex natural water systems such as lake water and seawater, featuring high sensitivity ( = 1.13 × 10 and 1.06 × 10 M, respectively), ultralow limit of detection (LOD = 17.47 and 18.62 nM, respectively) and excellent anti-interference ability. FTIR and XPS analyses revealed that uranyl ions coordinate with the free -COOH groups on the HBTC ligand. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations unveiled that photoelectron transfer from HBTC to UO causes luminescence quenching of .

Driven by eutrophication and global warming, the occurrence and frequency of harmful cyanobacteria blooms (CyanoHABs) are increasing worldwide, posing a serious threat to human health and biodiversity. Early warning enables precautional control measures of CyanoHABs within water bodies and in water works, and it becomes operational with high frequency in situ data (HFISD) of water quality and forecasting models by machine learning (ML). However, the acceptance of early warning systems by end-users relies significantly on the interpretability and generalizability of underlying models, and their operability.

Integrating opinion dynamics and differential game modeling for sustainable groundwater management.

Water Res

College of Hydrology and Water Resources, Hohai University, Nanjing 210098, China. Electronic address:

Groundwater overextraction presents persistent challenges due to strategic interdependence among decentralized users. While game-theoretic models have advanced the analysis of individual incentives and collective outcomes, most frameworks assume fully rational agents and neglect the role of cognitive and social factors. This study proposes a coupled model that integrates opinion dynamics with a differential game of groundwater extraction, capturing the interaction between institutional authority and evolving stakeholder preferences.

In recent years Quantum Computing prominently entered in the field of Computational Chemistry, importing and transforming computational methods and ideas originally developed within other disciplines, such as Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science into algorithms able to estimate quantum properties of atoms and molecules on present and future quantum devices. An important role in this contamination process is attributed to Quantum Information techniques, having the 2-fold role of contributing to the analysis of electron correlation and entanglements and guiding the construction of wave function variational ansatzes for the Variational Quantum Eigensolver technique. This paper introduces the tool SparQ (Sparse Quantum state analysis), designed to efficiently compute fundamental quantum information theory observables on post-Hartree-Fock wave functions sparse in their definition space.

The flavonoid rutin protects against imidacloprid-induced osmotic and electric disruptions in Africanized honey bees.

Honey bees (Apis mellifera) are essential pollinators threatened by sublethal effects of pesticides such as imidacloprid, a widely used neonicotinoid that disrupts the central nervous system. However, many of the systemic effects are poorly understood, especially on the physiological homeostasis of the honey bee. We evaluated the effects of oral administration of imidacloprid and the flavonol rutin on the properties of extracellular fluid (ECF) in Apis mellifera.

Freshwater mussels are critical to the health of freshwater systems, but their populations are declining dramatically throughout the world. The limited resources available for freshwater mussel conservation necessitates the geographic prioritization of conservation-related actions. However, lack of knowledge about freshwater mussel spatial distributions hinders decision making in this context.
