Wearable bioelectronics have advanced dramatically over the past decade, yet remain constrained by their superficial placement on the skin, which renders them vulnerable to environmental fluctuations and mechanical instability. Existing microneedle (MN) electrodes offer minimally invasive access to dermal tissue, but their rigid, bulky design-often 100 times larger and 10,000 times stiffer than dermal fibroblasts-induces pain, tissue damage, and chronic inflammation, limiting their long-term applicability. Here, a cell-stress-free percutaneous bioelectrode is presented, comprising an ultrathin (<2 µm), soft MN (sMN) that dynamically softens via an effervescent structural transformation after insertion.

Background: ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a major cardiac event that requires rapid reperfusion therapy. The same reperfusion mechanism that minimizes infarct size and mortality may paradoxically exacerbate further cardiac damage-a condition known as reperfusion injury. Oxidative stress, calcium excess, mitochondrial malfunction, and programmed cell death mechanisms make myocardial dysfunction worse.

A 49-year-old female presented with subacute onset of severe worsening bilateral lower extremity swelling. Bilateral iliac venous thrombus and extensive thrombus of the inferior vena cava with extension to the right atrium and bilateral segmental pulmonary emboli was identified on imaging. She was initiated on therapeutic anticoagulation prior to undergoing percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy with the RevCore TM device (Inari Medical, Irvine, CA) with retrieval of white, relatively well-formed organized clot vs mass.

Objective: Introduced in 1970s, Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) devices have played a crucial role in managing a wide range of complex and refractory chronic pain, particularly back/leg pain as well as neuropathic pain. Currently, two primary types of leads, cylindrical and paddle leads, are prevalent in pain management. While both effectively alleviate pain, cylindrical leads, due to their small size, are susceptible to movement and migration as well as a smaller surface area for coverage, leading to device displacement and failure to provide pain relief.

Management of common bile duct (CBD) stones has evolved substantially with the advent of endoscopic techniques and dedicated high-end devices. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has become a widespread essential technique for managing CBD stones, with high success rates in standard cases. However, for patients with large stones, stones in an impacted state, and stones in anatomically challenging regions, advanced strategies using various dedicated devices may be needed.
