Article Abstract

To enhance the mechanical properties of epoxy resin (EP), this study utilizes polyurethane (PU) and KH550/SiO nanoparticles as synergistic modifiers to develop an epoxy resin composite model. In this paper, five models are established, namely: EP, PU-EP, SiO-SR, KH550/SiO-EP, and KH550/SiO-PU-EP model. The mechanism of PU and KH550/SiO synergistic modification of EP mechanical properties is systematically studied through analyses of the cohesive energy density, free fraction volume, radius of gyration, radial distribution function, hydrogen bonding, and pull-out simulations. The results show that SiO nanoparticles modified with the KH550 coupling agent enhance the interaction energy between SiO and the EP matrix in the composite. At different temperatures (300-450 K), both fillers demonstrated the ability to lower the free fractional volume within EP composites. Additionally, they enhanced the quantity of hydrogen bonds, shortened the hydrogen bond distances within the system, and increased the proportion of hydrogen bonds exhibiting higher angles. Among them, KH550-SiO/UP/EP has the most obvious improvement effect on the system, indicating that KH550/SiO and PU synergistically modified epoxy resin can improve the mechanical properties of the composites. At 300 K, the Young's modulus, shear modulus, bulk modulus, and bulk modulus/shear modulus of KH550-SiO/UP/EP system are 8.12%, 7.03%, 16.05%, and 8.43% higher than those of EP system, respectively. At 450 K, it increased by 18.26%, 17.30%, 23.87%, and 27.57%, respectively. The findings of this study are anticipated to offer valuable insights for the design and performance enhancement of epoxy resin composites.

Transcranial ultrasound research has garnered significant attention due to its non-invasive nature, absence of ionizing radiation, and portability, making it advantageous for both imaging and therapy. A critical aspect of advancing transcranial research lies in understanding the ultrasound transmission performance of the human skull. However, inherent variations in skull shape, physical parameters, and age-related changes pose challenges for comparative studies.

Cycloaliphatic epoxy resin (CEP) is a promising candidate for rigid housings in high-voltage composite insulators due to its superior hardness, water resistance, and interfacial adhesion compared with conventional high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV-SR). However, the long-term insulation degradation mechanisms of CEP under corona discharge are still not fully understood. In this study, CEP, HTV-SR, and glass fiber-reinforced epoxy (GFRP) were subjected to AC corona aging using a multi-needle plate electrode.

Bisphenol A (BPA) and its analogs are collectively termed bisphenol compounds (BPs), which are predominantly utilized in the manufacturing of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. BPs are ubiquitous in diverse environmental matrices, human tissues, and metabolic products. Extensive research has demonstrated that BPs exert adverse effects on the nervous, reproductive, immune, and metabolic systems.

To investigate the dislodgement resistance of AH Plus and CeraSeal sealers to root dentin conditioned with Dual Rinse 1-hydroxyethylidene-1,1-diphosphonic acid (HEDP) (DR HEDP) or Triton and to correlate their effects on the organic and inorganic content of the root dentin treated with test irrigants.Sixty single-rooted extracted human teeth were divided into two groups and irrigated with DR HEDP or Triton. These samples were further divided into two subgroups to study the dislodgement resistance of AH Plus and CeraSeal sealers.
