Article Abstract

Mandibular condyle fractures are one of the most common fractures of the mandible, and management of these injuries is controversial. Classically, these patients underwent closed treatment. However, there has been a trend to perform open repair of these fractures given the recent research suggesting improved outcomes after open reduction internal fixation. In this comprehensive review, the authors review the initial evaluation, classification systems, treatment options, surgical approaches, and decision making when treating mandibular condylar fractures.

TMVR for the Treatment of Mitral Regurgitation: A State-of-the-Art Review.

Circ Cardiovasc Interv

September 2025

Department of Biomedical Sciences, Humanitas University, Pieve Emanuele-Milan, Italy (F.T., G.A., M.G., K.S., D.D., G.S., M.C.).

Mitral regurgitation is the most common valve disease worldwide. Despite its wide success in inoperable or high-risk surgical patients, transcatheter edge-to-edge repair remains limited by some anatomic features and the not negligible rate of significant residual regurgitation. Transcatheter mitral valve replacement has emerged as a viable alternative that promises to overcome these issues, but its development has been progressing slowly.

Plants, Pills, and the Brain: Exploring Phytochemicals and Neurological Medicines.

Department of Translational Research, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA 91766, USA.

Neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries, represent substantial global health challenges due to their chronic and often progressive nature. While allopathic medicine offers a range of pharmacological interventions aimed at managing symptoms and mitigating disease progression, it is accompanied by limitations, including adverse side effects, the development of drug resistance, and incomplete efficacy. In parallel, phytochemicals-bioactive compounds derived from plants-are receiving increased attention for their potential neuroprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Key Laboratory for Liquid-Solid Structural Evolution and Processing of Materials (Ministry of Education), School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shandong University, Jinan 250061, China.

With the rapid advancement of communication technologies, issues of electromagnetic pollution and electromagnetic compatibility have become increasingly severe, heightening the demand for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption materials. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have flourished in this field owing to their chemical tunability, high porosity, tailored topological structures, and functionality. MOF-derived composites exhibit diverse loss mechanisms and heterogeneous structures, achieving lightweight, broadband, and highly efficient absorption.
